More than friends?

Chapter 12

Yami's first POV

I had just gotten off work and I had seen that Yugi sent me a text from a few hours ago from the message I had sent him earlier. I smiled when I read it, it's super how cute how nervous he is around me. There's just something about him that I can't quite put my finger on, but I really am starting to crush on this fellow. I am not ready for anything serious though, but I will let him know when we get to that point. I am just really enjoying talking to someone who sees me as a person and not just a body. That is one thing that really pushes me away from people when they just see me for my looks. Yugi seems different and I like that.

I smile as I walk to my car knowing that I am about to get ready to spend the evening with Yugi. I have been looking forward to this night since we planned it. I really enjoying talking to him during work and when we text. I just wonder how we will get along outside of a new area. I'm sure it will be fine. It might be a little awkward for Yugi just because of how he is. I smile at how cute it is when he's nervous or when he gets awkward. It will be fine though, and I am sure he's nervous right now. I chuckle about how I can already read him so well already. I like it though, but he's also a mystery that I can't wait to get to know him even more.

I finally get home and I hop into a nice hot shower. It was much needed after the day that I had today. We were super busy during lunch but once lunch ended it just dragged on the entire night. It was really boring after Yugi left. Never really knew how much I enjoyed his company until he left during my shift. We talk a lot when are working together and just makes time pass by so quickly but in a good way. I always enjoy talking to him and cracking jokes with him. He just knows how to make me laugh and smile any point of the day. I really appreciate how much he has already impacted my life so far. I can't wait to see what our future looks like.

I get out of the shower and dry myself off before I put on my outfit for the evening. I look into my closet wondering what I should wear. I stand looking in my closet for a bit until I pick what I am going to wear for the evening. I grab a black V-neck, a jean jacket, some khaki skinny jeans along with my studded belt. Then once I put that on I grab some black on black converse and grab my phone texting Yugi that I am ready to meet up with him. I smile once I get to my car and read that text.

'I am ready as long as you're ready to spend the whole evening with me(: I can't wait to see youuuuu!'

I smile when I read that text and I reply with '<3'

Back to Yugi's POV

I read the text that Yami sent me and it honestly took me off guard. He sent me a heart? What on earth am I supposed to think about that? Does he like me? Is this a date? Are we talking?... Ugh so many things are going through my mind right now. I need to stop thinking so much and stop making me even more nervous that I already am... I seriously hate that I am like this. I can already tell that Yami knows that I am huge mess. This is something I wish that I could grow out of. I shrug it off and try to calm myself down by breathing in a few deep breaths and put on some music.

I arrive to the coffee shop downtown but I had to walk pretty far to the coffee shop. They had something going on and it was pretty busy... Something that I am not used to at all for our downtown. The one night I am looking forward coming downtown and it is completely busy. I roll my eyes when I see all these people walking pass by me. I then look at my phone to see a certain name pop up on my phone.

'Hey, I have been waiting to see you all day and you're running late!(;'

I shake my head I walk into the coffee shop. I then see him as soon as I walk in and my oh my he looks so handsome. I couldn't keep my eyes off him and it blew my mind someone like him would want to be out with me right now. He walks up to me and gives me a very embracing hug. His scent makes me never want to let go of him... It's so hypnotizing. Like I can't describe it, but it always gets my attention and that's how I know he's near. He then looks into my eyes and I try not to look away because I promised him I wouldn't. His eyes are so red... So different but so beautiful. He's a very attractive young man. I have never studied him this closely until now. He's perfect in every way.

"Finnaallly you show up. I was thinking that you were going to stand me up or something." He had said while he winked at me. Damn that wink of him. I then roll my eyes at him and chuckle.

"I mean if you keep being mean maybe I should just leave. Not like I have been waiting all day to see your sorry butt anyways." I say in a very sarcastic tone and smile at him. He then rolls his eyes and playfully shoves me some. We walk up to the counter and we look at the menu and he asks what I am thinking about getting. I then tell him what I usually get and he ponders on it. He then goes up front and nicely played off a very smooth move. He orders what I order and his order and pays. I look at him with a very confused look.

"I asked you out didn't I? It's only fair that I get you coffee and plus you got me coffee last week. It's at least that I can do." He smiles at me and hands me my coffee. I couldn't help but give him my confused look but I then give him my awkward shy smile.

"You shouldn't have though... You didn't need to pay for my coffee. I feel bad." I said when I looked down at my coffee that was very warm in my hands. I then feel two fingers pick up my chin and he has my eyes look straight into his eyes. I instantly blush when our eyes meet.

"Hey dear, remember to look at me when you talk to me. Also, it wasn't a big deal. As long as you're in my life and I am yours I will always get your coffee. No matter what." I can feel the redness appear on my cheeks. Like this guy is so charming and I don't know what to say or how to act right now. I am not used this kind of attention or being treated like this. This is so very new to me.

"Haha yeah... Sorry. I'm not used to looking at someone like this very often. I'm so very awkward, but I know that you know that of course. Also, that is going to be a lot of coffee because I am not going anywhere. I can promise you that right now." I smile at him and he has the biggest smile on his face and I see a twinkle in his eyes. This is actually going pretty well honestly. I slowly let my guard down and being to feel a little more comfortable now.

"Well, I hope you can put up with me that long because I can be a handful at times." He says with a smirk and I slightly nudge his shoulder with mine. We laugh for a minute and just enjoy the silence we are sharing right now. It didn't feel awkward, it just felt so right. I then look at him and I can see him smiling. That made me feel good knowing that he's smiling like that. I guess he's enjoying his time with me. I hope so at least.

"You know has probably been one of the best nights that I have had since I've moved to Domino. I really have enjoyed this time with you and I can't wait to see what will be some other adventures we will have together. Also, the night is sill young. Want to for a walk downtown? I think they have some food trucks since there is a concert around here." He smiles at me and I couldn't believe that he just said that. I couldn't help but blush at what he said. I then nodded at him and got up. He grabbed my hand and we walked out the door.

This is turning out to a good night. I am starting to like this guy a lot.
