• Epilogue •

"Why are we out here so late?" Taehyung asks, wrapping his arms around his boyfriend's waist and back hugging Jungkook.

"Oh, you're here." Jungkook puts his hands on top of Taehyung's which were wrapped around him. He taps them lightly so the other would let go, and he did. Jungkook turns around and sits down on the ground, gesturing for Taehyung to do the same thing as well. They were at the park they spent most of their high school days at— underneath the cherry blossom tree that Taehyung had waited at three years ago. But this time, Jungkook was the one who waited for Taehyung... and he did come. Some petals were falling off, it was getting closer to the fall season after all. However, the cold breeze felt nice to them. It meant that winter was coming, and the two of them both loved winter. The season of snow crunching beneath each step, the feeling of being hugged by huge winter jackets, playing in the snow near the holiday season and cuddling each other to keep warm. They were looking forward to everything about it.

Taehyung traces his fingers over the fading initials carved into the tree, "Here," Jungkook hands Taehyung a yellow blade cutter. The older's eyebrows furrowed, "What's that for?"

"When we first carved our names there we made a promise to each other that we'd be together as long as it was still there. Now, it's kind of fading, so we're going to re-carve our names again..."

Taehyung nodded and grabbed the cutter from Jungkook, extending the blade out a little enough to use to carve with. As he traced over the 'J' in Jungkook's initials, he jumped when the younger suddenly spoke into his ear, "...but this time, we're making a new promise."

Taehyung put the blade down and tackled Jungkook on the ground, "Don't scare me like that!" he pouted, punching Jungkook lightly as the other attempted to protect himself from getting hit. Jungkook giggled,  "Alright, alright. Sorry, I won't do it again." Taehyung stopped and Jungkook sat up, "Anyways, like I said... this time we're re-carving it with a new promise."

"What new promise?" Taehyung tilts his head out of curiousity.

Jungkook digs in his jacket pocket before pulling out two silver rings, making his boyfriend gasp. Jungkook takes Taehyung's right hand, rubbing his thumb over the back of it as he held it with such care. "I, Jeon Jungkook, promise not to be stupid ever again and let go of Kim Taehyung ever again. I promise with my whole heart that I'll love him for as long as I live and beyond, and when the right time comes, I'll prepare for the day I can call him mine for eternity. I'll wait no matter how long I have to, as long as I get to spend the rest of my life with him." Jungkook smiles, slowly slipping the ring on Taehyung's ring finger. When the ring was on, Jungkook held out another ring in his palm in front of Taehyung, "Will you promise to let me do that too?" Taehyung didn't even notice that he teared up, but he of course, held his tears back when he took the ring from Jungkook.

"I, Kim Taehyung, promise that I'll always try my best to understand Jeon Jungkook. I will not let his stupid ass let go of me again, and I'll never let him go either. I promise with my whole heart that I'll also love him for as long as I live and beyond. I'll wait for as long that I need to as well, if it means I get to spend the rest of my life waking up beside him and spending our time together for a very long time. I promise to love and support him for eternity." Taehyung put the other ring on Jungkook. "I love you," Taehyung says holding Jungkook's face in both his hands. "I love you more," the younger replies, pulling his boyfriend into a very tight hug. They stay like that for a few minutes, just holding each other in silence and taking in everything.

With his arms wrapped around Jungkook's neck, Taehyung held up his right hand behind Jungkook's back to take a look at their promise ring. He examined how shiny the silver was, but he squinted his eyes when he noticed tiny engravings in the middle. "Kookie?"

"Yeah?"

"What's TK for?"

Jungkook snickered, "Ahh, I got that from Seokjin and Hoseok hyung. They said our names together was 'taekook', so, TK."

Taehyung rolled his eyes in a joking manner, "Of course," he chuckled, "it's cute though," he adds.

"Of course it is. It's us."
