Joanna

"Oh come the fuck on!!" Joanna cried out, staring at her laptop in anger.

"Language!" Toshinori shouted. Joanna looked at her cell phone and squinted her eyes. She currently had Toshinori on speakerphone. Seeing as how they'd been friends for about two months now, they'd begun calling each other every day.

It was Joanna who suggested they start doing voice calls.

Jojobear: you know what we should do?

Toshi46: what's that

Jojobear: voice calls!

Toshi46: for real? 😅 are you sure about that?

Jojobear: I don't see why not! I have no clue what you sound like.

Toshi46: I have a deep voice. End of story

Jojobear: *rolls eyes* come on, it makes talking more fun.

Toshi46: I guess I am interested in what you sound like. Sure! But atm I'm kind of busy so calling isn't really an option

Jojobear: just call me when you're free 😊

They eventually made a routine out of it, and now not a single day goes by where Joanna doesn't talk on the phone with Toshinori.

"Don't tell me what to do Toshi! My laptop is being an absolute piece of garbage! I can't keep going to the school just to do my work, it's so annoying! I want to be able to do my homework at HOME."

"Why don't you ask your dad for extra money to buy a new one?" Toshinori asked, his voice cutting out for a second. Joanna sighed.

"I did. He doesn't think anything is wrong with my laptop, because he lives in fucking America and can't see for himself how shitty it is!" Joanna slammed her laptop closed and tossed it aside.

"Hey!"

Joanna rolled her eyes again. "I know I know. Language." She heard Toshinori chuckle. His voice is kind of sexy.. Joanna thought with a smile.

"Hmmm.. have you tried selling some of your video games for cash? According to that picture you showed me you've got quite the stash."

Joanna stared at her phone in disbelief.

"Would you sell your child for cash? I didn't think so!" She laughed.

"You hold your video games on the same level of importance as a child?" Toshinori asked. "Tsk tsk. I feel sorry for you Joey."

"I'm not selling my games! Some of them belonged to Chris, and he meant a lot to me as my wise older brother."

"Fair enough." Toshinori gave in. "In that case, there's only one thing left to do."

Joanna glanced at her phone again. "Oh? And what would that be?"

"Okay, how much money will it take to buy you a decent laptop?" He asked.

"I don't know, I haven't looked any up."

"Well, do that now."

Joanna grabbed her phone and opened Google search, and typed in "laptops for students". After a few minutes of silence, she spoke.

"Okay I found a decent one that will cost me 400 bucks. Which I don't have. So what's this plan of yours?" She frowned and placed her phone back on the charger.

"Gimme a sec." Toshinori went silent for a few minutes.

Joanna waited impatiently. What the hell is he doing?
