At exactly seven thirty when there was a knock on the door.I hesitantly opened the door afraid of who was on the other side of it. Not that I didn't trust Eve or anything. It's just that I don't like meeting new people. Plus trusting people wasn't the easiest thing for me to do either.

When I opened the door a boy stood there. The first thing I noticed was the snapback and the sunglasses. So he was one of those people? Who wears sunglasses inside anyway?!

"Hey, you must be Tye." The boy smiled. He did have a nice smile. I couldn't deny that. "I'm Cole's friend, Dana."

"Nice to meet you." I smiled back gesturing him to come inside, closing the door after he had entered. "I'll be ready in a minute." I mean I was practically ready, wearing my favorite blue tank top and shorts. All that was left was for me to grab my purse and to put my hair into a ponytail.

My bedroom was the last door at the end of a short hallway. The walls were painted a light blue by whoever lived here before me. It was a pretty big room, not that the space was needed. My bed sat in the corner still neatly made because I haven't slept on it since I made it last. I quickly grabbed a hair tie from my dresser and out my hair in a ponytail. Before leaving the room I grabbed my purse and took one last look in the mirror..

After i reunited with the boy, Dana, we left the apartment building. His car was nice. And when I say nice, I mean really nice. It was a silvery- gray color. That was my favorite color on cars although it's kinda 'overused' if you think about it.

"So how far away is this place, anyway?" I asked as I got in and fastened my seat belt. He did the same then started driving shortly afterwards.

"About an hour from here. But then again, that's not to far." He shrugged. "So how long have you lived with Eve anyway?"

"Ah, around two years, I guess." I then stayed quiet for a moment remembering something that happened a little bit more than a year ago. "I was supposed to move out.... But it didn't work out." Those words came out more quietly than the others. as I rested my head on the window I noticed how pretty the sun rise was. Normally spending most of my time inside an apartment didn't provide much of a view of these things. My sleep schedule didn't help much either.

"What didn't work out?" Dana asked, glancing over at me.

I sighed. "It's kinda a long story." He seemed to smile at these words came out of my mouth.

"It's an hour ride. We have time."

"Well I was supposed to move in with my boyfriend, at the time. We had been dating for a while so it was okay. But something happened... " I paused for a moment as I remembered again. "And he cut off all contact. I guess I should be over him, but the four years of my life I wasted says otherwise, i guess."

Dana looked over at me slightly as he stopped at a red light, "When's the last time you talked to him?"

       "Eight months ago."

"What happened? That made him cut off all contact, I mean."

The memories made me cringe and I felt like crying, just thinking about it. "I would rath-" My voice cracked. "I would rather not get into that, if that's okay...." I guess he understood I didn't want to talk about it because he nodded. "Sp, I told you something about myself. So why don't you tell me something about you?" I suggested, trying to change the topic.

Dana smiled. As I said earlier, his smile was nice. Better that nice, if I'm being honest. He had one of the best smiles I had ever seen. "Um... Well the most pairs of shoes I've had at one time is a little bit over eighty pairs." The boy admitted.

"Wow." I laughed as he said that. I tried to think of another question to ask. "What's one of your pet peeves?"

"When people step on my shoes." He shrugged. This made me laugh, which made him smile.

Maybe he isn't one of those people after all.
