Chapter 7-combat with werewolves for dummies

Ryan held on tightly to Diana’s hand as they sprinted down the street, his shoes thudding as loudly as his heart, on the asphalt. The werewolf was gaining on them. But there was some glitch. He cold not only sense one but………..a whole clan of werewolves around them, and they were closing in on them at a really fast rate. He had already messaged Jack for backup but it would possibly take him about twenty minutes to reach them. Ryan looked at Diana from the corner of his eyes, and was astonished. She seemed only a little shaken from the face off. Her whole attention was only on running.

Brave beauty.

Ryan took a sharp turn and entered one of the alleys between two Victorian houses.

He pushed Diana against one of the walls, pinning her with his weight. He has to cover up her human scent at any rate or it will be piece of cake for the werewolves for finding them.

He snaked his arms behind her back pulling her closer to him, aggressively. Diana gasped and caught onto the lapel of his coat for support. Their noses touched unconsciously and Ryan heard Diana’s breath get caught in her throat.

“Ryan……that...th-that.thing...Was that a werewolf?” her voice trembled.

Ryan looked into her eyes and couldn’t help nodding.

Her whole body was shaking now and it was becoming harder for Ryan to restrain himself from cradling her there and then.

They were still being stalked. The pack was just giving them time to surrender.

“Its going to be alright, love, no one will hurt you……” he lied.

“Ryan……………”

“Shhh. No more questions. Listen you have to get home right now.”

“But…………”

“No buts. Please I need to know that you are safe, you understand. They won’t follow you. Just run away, alright?”

She looked up at him, concern reflecting in her emerald eyes. He suddenly realized how hard it would for a human to take in so much in one day. How this simple girl was bearing it was unimaginable to Ryan. Out of the blue, a howl resounded in the skies. Ryan quickly pushed the girl behind her.

“Oh my lord, bless me, look who I found.” Pietro’s words were accompanied by a whole crescendo of howls, breaking the silence of the night. Almost a dozen wolves stalked into the alley, their heads low, growling in their throats and at the head was Pietro. He was shirtless, only wearing faded, ripped jeans. Even in the dark Ryan could see the black tattoo on his wrist which seemed to be scrawled there with great care and precision. It was an intricately designed eagle like mark, a thunderbird, designating Pietro as Griffon’s minion. Pietro eyes gazed over Ryan before playing over to Diana’s, smugly smiling. Ryan felt her stiffen behind her and he gritted her teeth. How dare he gawk at his girl like that? Ryan felt anger rise in him like lava out of an active volcano while Pietro took pleasure in his discomfort.

“Oh……..precious morsel, isn’t that all that is in her for you?”

“Shut your mouth, Pietro.” He grounded out.

“Tell that to my jaws.” He said and immediately converted into his wolf, licking his lips with anticipation and revealing his perfectly white canines.

Angered the alpha. Didn’t you warlock? Why do you have to act like a daredevil? You idiot. He cursed himself.

For all Ryan knew Pietro was planning to make Diana his Luna and Ryan his lunch and that was something that Ryan was really not content with.
