I stalk out of our bedroom and into my office, throwing myself in a chair and eyeing my computer. My work computer. With secret government files on it. And exactly the thing I need to protect my mate. To protect all our omegas.
The antidote. The elixir that will remove all omega DNA from our mates and change them into humans. They'd be safe that way.
I squeeze my eyes closed and turn off the computer. I know where it's kept and exactly how to use it. I know all about it. I also know that if used, we will no longer be mated. It will erase everything. And if Jin is pregnant again after his needing? It will kill the young and he won't be able to have anymore children.
He'd simply be like any other human.
He'd be safe.
The door creaks open and I snap my gaze over to see Yoongi staring at me knowingly. "What are you doing?"
I clench my fists. "We can make it better, Min. We can make them safe." I whisper.
He stares passed me, lost in thought. "You're talking about the medicine?"
I nod, my throat clenching up. He takes a seat beside me, playing with one of my many pens. "The only question is...would it be worth it? You'd lose him, ya know? He would never forgive you. He'd take the young and the others and probably leave us."
I sigh. "You wouldn't do it to protect Hoseok?"
He smiles. "I would but I would also talk to him about it, though. I don't treat him like just a mate like you do. I treat him like an intelligent equal. Perhaps you should do the same before you permanently lose your mate. He deserves to have a choice."
I groan. "I can't have something happen to him again. This is the only way."
He nods solemnly. "You should let him know this instead of shutting him out. Maybe he'll surprise you."
I drop my head in my hands. "I know you're right. I'm scared, Yoongi. I've never been more scared in my life. This is just...over our head."
He hesitates. "I think you're right. Maybe this is the only way. You realize if we let them take it...they will have to leave us. We can't change with them and if we get caught, we will be killed."
I swallow hard. "I know that. It's a risk I'm willing to take. To protect what's mine."
He glances at the door. "I need to speak to Hoseok then tomorrow we will have to talk to Jungkook. We can't be hasty. Let's think logically about this and pen point every angle."
I nod. "You're right."
He eyes me. "You need to go back and comfort your mate. He really needs you right now. Don't be an idiot. I know you're fucking smarter than that."
I flip him off to which he simply smirks and leaves the room. Clever asshole. He's right, though. I need to be fair. I'm shutting Jin out just like he did to me. I can't do that to him.
Reluctantly, I walk back to the bedroom to find he's cried himself to sleep. Tear marks still on his cheeks as he rests, huddled over my pillow. Sighing in regret, I climb into bed and pull him into my arms.
Sniffling, he opens his eyes to look at me. "You came back?" He whispers.
"Of course. Did you think I was leaving? I just needed some time, baby." I kiss his nose.
He clutches me tighter. "I'm sorry I didn't tell you."
"Don't. It's okay. I understand. I was out of line. You didn't deserve that."
He frowns, worry marring his brow. "Please talk to me. I k-know I've been distant and I want to fix that but I can't if you start shutting me out."
"I know, sweetheart. I was just talking to Yoongi." I frown.
He looks at me questionably. "About?"
"Can we talk about it tomorrow? I promise I'll tell you but for tonight...I just want to hold you and love you. Is that okay?"
Smiling, he nods. Our lips meet in an easy and slow kiss, no rushing or extreme hunger in it, just love and patience. Our hands don't stray far the others hair and face as we savor the taste of the other.
"I love you so much, Jin. You know that, right?" I whisper against his lips.
He moans. "I love you, too. More than anything."
I gently push him onto his back and hover over his prone form, tugging his over sized shirt off his shoulder and kissing his collarbones lovingly.
He gasps and tilts his head back. Taking my queue, I lick and bite his neck, marking him over and over again. He shudders under me, pulling at my own shirt so I help him remove it. His hands trace over my chest and firm muscles as I take his lips again, claiming his mouth.
"I never get tired of your taste. I crave it." I sigh, content to just tease his lips with mine all night.
His eyes glow as he smiles up at me. "I love your taste and smell. It smells like home." He admits.
Smiling, I lace our fingers together. "Mhm, I like that. Home. You smell like home to me, too."
I lay back on the pillows as he pulls himself on top of me, resting his head down on my chest. "Promise me...promise me that you'll never leave me? Promise me that no matter what...we will always be together." He whispers.
I look down at him, hesitant to make such a promise when I know I may not be able to keep it. I brush my fingers through his hair. "I promise." I finally concede, knowing that if it comes down to it, Jin will be the one to leave me. Not the other way around.
His breathing eventually gets heavy as he falls back asleep. I lie away for a long time just watching him. "I'm not going anywhere, love. But I can't say the same for you."
Sighing, I close my eyes and drift off with him tightly in my arms where he belongs.
