Its been a couple of days since the fight and things were kinda back to normal...kinda. Mostly cause Nishiki is working at the cafe now? Ha loser. Wait I work here too..dammit.
It's been a slow day this afternoon so I told kaneki he should go look for Hinami. "Alright then I'll be back!" He said as he took off his apron and went looking out for her. "Wow you and that runt have gotten closer since you imprinted on him?" Nishiki smirked. "Imprinted?? What the hell hes not a cub!" You waved your arms at him. You both just started laughing since he started working at the cafe it's been a nice addition to this little family you have made. 'You spoke too soon'
You turned the lights off and sat down for discussion. You didnt want to be there. You hated this. "What's going on?" Touka came in for work but she could tell what was going on wasn't good. After the old man explained to her what happened she was clouded with anger. "What are we doing sitting here doing nothing!? They killed Hinami mother! We have to do something!" She said with nothing but venom in her voice. As old man tried to calm her down she just got worse and you couldn't stand this any longer. "What the hell are we to do! Huh! Kill the guy...is that going to bring her back !? She's dead..dammit.." you started to cry tears of anger. Everyone stood quiet you weren't the one to burst out but you couldn't help it. "Touka..we all want him dead. What he did..look. Getting revenge might do worse than good they know Hinami face. First priority is to protect her. So stop." You walked out. No one said anything and no one stopped you.
Kaneki quickly tried to walk out as he was to stay with Hinami during the meeting. "I know you're there" you tried to sound normal but just came out raspy from the crying. He stopped and looked at you with sad eyes. "You ok..? He spoke softly to her. "Haha yea I'm good" you gave a fake smile that he saw right through. "Come stay a while with me and Hinami" you thought it was a good idea so you went along.
You haven't seen Touka in a while and honestly you were scared that she had done something stupid. Just when you thought she did something stupid you're brought out of your thoughts when Yoshi came to tell you what happened. Fucking Touka.
"She went to fight the investigators and wont let me treat her wounds he said worried. "I'll go and check up on her" nodding to kaneki he followed.
"So you did it even when I said it wasn't a good idea huh?" You said sitting next to touka. "What do you care" "look let me treat your wounds" you said getting the first aid. Kaneki is always amazed how Touka always lets you in her own world. "Owww! What the hell" touka scrunched her face in pain. "That's punishment for what you did..you know you could've gotten badly injured.." you said looking away. "Yea I know" she said sighing. "Touka you know me and saya are always here for you whenever you need help" Kaneki said smiling sadly. "Then I'll take that offer" she said smirking. I dont like this.
"What the hell are we doing in the sewers!?" You yelled in annoyance. "Hey you guys said that you'll help me out..right?" "I hate you ken" you said pushing him in the dirty water. "Ahh! C'mon" kaneki cried as he got soaked while you and touka laughed.
"Come on in. Its ready for you"
》Next Day
"Ugh why did Uta make us matching mask" you groan. "H-hey it's not my fault.." he said with a bit of hurt in his voice. "Well I guess it can be a symbol of our friendship" you grinned. You noticed a small blush on his face you just laughed even more. "Well anyways I'm going now see ya later" you said as your shift ended and you needed to finish some homework. "Alight bye be safe!" He waved goodbye.
"Man I dont wanna do this, why do I even need math it's the demons work I say" you said as you smashed your head on the desk annoyed. It's around 8pm when you got a call from an unknown number.
"Who's this"
"So hostile"
"Tsk what do you want"
"Its an emergency"
With that you quickly hung up and met up with the white haired man. You put on your mask that was identical to Kanekis only difference was that yours was white instead of black. 'Hm it's not that bad I guess..' you smile softly to yourself.
"Thank you for calling me" you said to Yomo as you shoved your hands in your pocket with a black hoodie on matching your black attire. "I knew if I didnt you'd try and fight me" he said lightly laughing. "I hate that I didnt go there with them.." you said hating yourself for letting kaneki and touka fight off the doves. "They'll be fine" he said squeezing your shoulder which in response you gave him a small smile.
From afar you could already smell loads of blood some of which was kanekis. You stood under a shade watching kaneki acting out of character. That's when he sudden appeared in front of you. You widen your eyes as his kagune stabbed you in the side of your stomach. With the air force your hoodie fell and he sudden saw a smilling eyes closed saya with blood dripping down her mouth. When his smirk fell and his eyes widen.
"Hey..ken" you said softly. "S-Saya..w-ha" "Haha um here eat this it should make you feel a little better" you tossed him a package of special meat. "You'll be fine kid" yomo said revealing himself. "Uh..t-hank you" kaneki said still in shock he just stabbed his best friend which she seemed ok with.
"Hinami!" You said running to the sobbing child. "S-saya chan.." she said as you hugged her tightly. "Dont you ever EVER scare me like that " you scolded her. "Uh I'm I'm ssorry" she started to cry even more. "Hey! Stop being mean!" Touka said. You stared at her and she started to get uncomfortable "YOUUUUU! ES
ESPECIALLY YOU-!" You were about to lecture her when kaneki held you back and hinami smiled at the sight of her friends maybe she isn't alone.
You guys brought her to the cafe upstairs touka said would be with her for tonight and you all went walking home.
"Man I'm beat. " you said yawning. "Yea it's been a long day.." kaneki said looking at the ground as you guys walked home. "Hey ken carry me!" You cheered up. "W-what??" He said blushing furiously. "Yea I'm tired and my tummy hurts" you faked cried. "I'm tired too you know!" He protested. "Hey you stabbed me so I think I deserve it!" You said sticking your tongue out. That's when the mood changed drastically. "Kennnnn dont give me that face!" You shook him by his shoulders. His hair covering his face but that's when you noticed there were tears on his cheeks. "You cant always cry when stuff like that happens. You have to learn from your mistakes. Take control." You said as you brushed his tears away. He stood still as you did as his lips parted not knowing what to say. For god sake he stabbed you! "Why are you always so forgiving.." he said quietly just above a whisper. "Haha because ken you're my best friend and as I your best friend have to give you the benefit of the doubt and plus you're just trying to get your life together and I'm here for you through stab and stab" you added some humor to it. "Get on" he said looking away from you as you laughed and got on his back. The way home was nice and peaceful.
