.Chapter four

I changed into my comfy pyjamas the first thing as I got home , washed my face and immediately started studying and I was sure that I had to study till the morning in order to pass the test ... yeah I know I am that bad in history and no matter how hard I study , I keep forgetting everything the second I enter the class.

After hours of studying, I decided to make some coffee so that I wouldn't fall asleep. As I opened my door I smelt something burning. I run downstairs as fast as I could that I almost tripped because I was so worried , but relaxed a bit when I didn't see any sign of smoke anywhere around the house.  I felt as if the smell was coming from the kitchen, I rushed there to see burnt milk all over the stove.

I switched off the gass and turned around to see momy crying on the floor. I rushed to give her an embrace and she kept crying on my shoulder for a long time . I wanted to know why she was doing this but I didn't ask anything because I knew her too well that she wouldn't say anything untill she was done crying.

"Ash.."

"yes mom".

"Connor loved warm milk , you know that right?" she said facing me.

I nodded.

"He couldn't fall asleep without drinking it " she said as tears started falling down again. "  God knows what he eats in there , what he drinks , who he is with ..."

"mom he will be out soon ok? don't worry .. now please let me get you to your bed to rest a little".

she stood up without arguing while I walked her to her room and made her lie on her bed and said goodnight.

"Ashley " she said in a shaky voice as I was about to leave the room and turned back as I heard her voice.

"I am so sorry that I asked you to marry that boy without even thinking about you .. it must have been really surprising for you to hear me saying it , but I am begging you to understand I'm so worried about him and I miss him so bad".

" I understand you mom and I am sorry that I reacted that way but, as you said before I was so surprised that I couldn't control myself" I said feeling so guilty inside because it was the first time that I have ever shouted at mom, we were usually very close to each other and I  obeyed whatever she has ever said to me , but I was never as close as Connor to her. They were always together talking about every thing. It was like they were best friends in life.

"Ash Can i ask u something?!"

"of course "

" Will u accept the marriage?!" she said with lots of emotions on her face , curiosity , guilt , anxiety ... but most of them PAIN.

"Yes, I will mom" trying hard to form a fake smile on my face. "I even told Jesse ".

"You did what?!" she asked with wide eyes.

"yeah mom I went to meet Jesse today and I told him that I will accept the marriage for Connor's sake. You were right mom. Jail is really a dangerous place , and I want him to get out as soon as possible".

She let out a big sqeal as she jumped and hugged me as tight as she could for a long long time.

"mom I can't breathe anymore".

She let go of me immediately as I let out a huge sigh saying "wooh you almost killed me mom".

" I am sorry dear but I can't help it, you can't imagine how happy I am right now . Thank you so much for doing that , I know it must have been a  very hard decision for you to make" she said in tears .

"yeah, it was indeed ,but I will do anything for you .. for all of you"

" oh my god I'm so proud to have a daughter like you  , you are so matured" giving me another quick hug.

" thanks mom .. " I said awkwardly.

" and by the way please don't tell Jessica about this ok?"

" why not?!" I said confused.

" because she is JESSICA , you know her better than I do, I am sure she will kill us all. You know how much she cares about you".

"Ok ok , I wont tell her but I have to go study now I have history test tomorrow".

" What? why do you bother ? you will fail anyway.. "

she said sarcastically.

"Wow thats gerat support mom , thank you so much "  I said crossing my arms pretending to look angry.

" I was just joking , I'm certain that you will do well tomorrow" she said with a grin.

I couldn't deny that I was so happy at that moment because it was the first time to see her smile since the accident, and it was great.

"Goodnight mom "

"Goodnight pumpkin but umm I have to tell you one more thing"

" what is it ?" I asked anxiously.

" Your dad has invited Jason's family for dinner tomorrow"

"oh thats.." stopping mid-sentence not knowing what to say.

" Ashley ,are you fine ?".

"yeah" I lied , because I was far from fine. As much as I was forcing myself to accept the situation and just go with it but I couldn't. I was really sad deep down inside but trying my best not to show it.

"Ok then get back to your studding" she said as she kissed my forehead. 

I said goodnight and went to the kitchen to clean up the mess then made some coffe and went back to my room and started studying that boring thing again.
