Chapter Five

" You can open your papers now and you have forty five minutes, good luck everyone. " the teacher informed.

I slowly opened the exam paper and started reading all of the questions at once and there were questions that I was hundred percent sure that it wasn't in the book at all, however I answered the ones that I knew while waiting to answer the ones that I didn't but it was none sense , because I was certain that I wouldn't know them even by spending the night in the class .

"wooh finally you are out , I thought you fall asleep in there" I heard Cora say as I closed the door.

"well,  you have to understand that not everyone's little mind works genius as yours ok?" I said as I approached her down the hall.

"Ugh I have heard that sentence more than a million times " she said looking annoyed. "oh and by the way , its yor turn to go to work today".

Oh I totally forgot about that.. me and Cora work in a coffe shop but I go in a week and Cora in another , so that it wouldn't affect our studying that much and we would have more free time. The owner didn't have much problem with that as she was Cora's  auntie Susan , the sweetest person I have ever seen in my life.

"I uh I ... I can't go , can you go instead of me just for today , please??" begging her to say yes.

"and the reason is??" she looked at me raising her brows.

"Because Jesses are coming over "I said without thinking about what I just said. what did you do Ashley?! can't you be a little more careful of what you say ?! Now I have to sit here for hours explaining everything to her.... She gave me a confused look and I was waiting for her to say Who is Jesse and hundred other questions but instead she simply said " Your sister comes all the time , why is that a big deal?!?".

I let out a big sight of relief as I knew she misunderstood , when I said Jesse she understood as Jessica as I call her Jesse sometimes for short.

You can't believe how thankful I am that they have similar names.

"Well , um mom invited her and her husband's parents for dinner but she is a bit sick so I have to help her , so would you go please?! " I  felt so bad lying to her and it was for sure that she would be so angry at me once she finds out about the marriage but I couldn't tell her because I didn't want her to feel sorry for me.

"ok , I'll go". she said with a cute smile.

"thank you , thank  you, I love you too much" I said giving her a tight hug.

"I would say I love you too if you let go off me because I have to eat something , Im starving."

"ok , me too lets go" I said as we made our way to the cafeteria.

I went to the grocery store after school ended and bought the list of things mom told me in the morning . It was 4:00 o'clock when I got home so I decided to take a nap because I didn't sleep at all last night and I didn't want to look all sleepy in front of the guests.

Mom woke me up after a while and I showered , blow dried my hair , wore a long light purple dress and I was ready.

I was putting the plates on dinner table when I heard the door bell .

"Open the door Ashley" mom shouted from the kitchen.

I opened the door expecting to see Jesse's family but I saw another person that I never expected to see.

Connor

He was a completely different person , his face was so pale , his eyes red and puffy and he looked like  he was really angry that he would explode in any second .

"Connor , when did you come out" I asked when I finally got some nerve to speak.

"Since you agreed to that stupid marriage" he said

giving me death stares.

At that time my parents come to the door with disbelief , they rushed to hug him with teary eyes but Connor stoped them and shouted " don't get close to me , how dare you rush to me with embraces while giving her to a total stranger ?!".

"oh my god Connor it's Ok I'm really fine with it, don't treat my parents in such an ugly way" I shouted tears running down on my face.

"oh Ashley I know you too well for that . You go around acting like you are ok but you aren't , you want everyone's happiness EXEPT YOURS. You have always been that way , honestly I was expecting you to agree but I never believed that my parents would let you to marry someone like that . I mean come on that Jesse's family are totally INSANE , how could they do something that ridiculous. How.."

He stopped once he saw Jesse's family getting out of the car . " wow speaking of the devil " he said as he attacked them like a wild animal that's just found the prey. He kept shouting and shouting whatever came to his mind while they all tried to calm him down , finally my parents got him inside while I stayed there waiting to be swallowed by the ground because the whole situation was too embarrassing.

"It's ok , don't worry huny" said Jesse's mom " we knew that he would do that all along , he is your brother after all and he really cares about you ".

"I apologise for his insolent language , but he has some serious anger issues that he can't help it ... so please accept my apology behal of my brother and my parents" I said really ashamed of what just happened.

"I told you its ok , now go back inside and we will be leaving " she said giving me a quick hug " and please tell your parents not to worry about us ".

"I will " I answered and rushed inside with my head down because I couldn't look at their horrified faces anymore.

"No I can't calm down. How could you make her do something like that just because she isn't your reall daughter,  what would she do if she found out about that huh?. Would you be able to look her in the eye and tell her that you loved me way more than her because I was your son and it was ok for her to marry God knows who as long as I am out safe and sound?" I heard Connor say as I froze in my place. Did I just hear what I think I heard???
