-Niall's POV-

"Hey Niall ;) how's your Saturday going?!"

Dang. She texted me. And she flirted. The gods are blessing me today. Maybe she actually does like me.

I flirt back a bit, being my flirty self and then ask if we can study later.

I hear my dad come through the door. Shit. I run up to my room and lock the door. Oh yeah, my dads kinda a psychopath. It's not really his fault I guess. He's schizophrenic. He thinks there's bad stuff that's constantly going to hurt him out there, including me. He thinks I'm this demon that just so happens to be living with him.

You weren't expecting that, were you?

That's why I don't tell people. I cover it up by being cheeky and flirty. Nobody suspects it. Except maybe my soul mate. The bruises are hard to miss.

I talk to Kendall for a while when I hear my dad coming up the stairs, towards my room. He bangs on the door and I quickly say goodbye to Kendall and hang up.

I cautiously walk to the door and open it, and there is my dad.

"NIALL!" He screams, "WE HAVE TO GET OUT OF HERE!"

"Dad, dad, it's fine. There's nothing that's going to hurt us. We're fine. It's okay!" I try to reason. It's a 50/50 chance it'll work.

The odds weren't in my favor this time.

His eyes immediately get darker and more angry, "YOU'RE ONE OF THEM! A MONSTER!" He then grabs me by the hair and punches my side. I gasp and move out of his grasp. I run down the hall to the bathroom and grab his pills. I turn around and he's right in front of me. I quickly pour a few pills in my hand and shove them down his throat. The pills take affect fast and he passes out. I drag his sleeping body to his bed and tuck him in.

It's not his fault, I try to assure myself, He doesn't actually think I'm a demon or a monster.

I just sigh and go back to my room. I look in the mirror at the forming bruise. My soul mate is fucked.

-Kendall's POV-

After I put some ice on the mysterious bruise it's about 2 pm. Just and hour until Niall comes over. I walk upstairs to get ready.

I change out of my pj's into a cute tank top and some jean shorts with small studs on the back pocket. I walk into the bathroom and straighten my hair and out on some makeup.

Why am I dressing up so much? No idea.

I walk down to the living room and see my mom returned from work.

"Hey mom, I have a friend coming over to study so I'll be busy."

"Okay honey," she says, "Is it Ava?"

I blush, "Uh no, it's actually a guy. His name is Niall. Ms. Lawrence told me to tutor him."

She smirks at me, "Is it a cute boy?"

"Mom! No-uh, yes? I don't know!" I groan.

She just nods and smirks again and walks up to her room. I grab some apple juice from the kitchen when I hear a knock at the door.

I answer it and there's a smiling Niall, "Come in!" I say.

After I tutor Niall we're playing 20 questions, again.

"Who was your last boyfriend?" He asks. My face reddens and I look down. I've actually never had a boyfriend.

"I-uhm haven't had a boyfriend before." I stutter. He smirks.

"So no first kiss? No first slow dance?" He asks.

I shake my head. He smiles,stands up, and says, "Well then. I won't take your first kiss, but I will take your first slow dance." I look up at him confused but he just smiles.

He gets out his phone and plays 'God Damn You're Beautiful' by Chester See. He extends his hand for me to grab. I take it and stand up. He puts both my hands around his neck, then places his hands on my hips. I wince at this and his eyes go wide.

"Did I do something wrong?" He says, "I'm so sorry, I didn't mean to push you or anything-"

I cut him off, "No, it's fine," I smile, "I just have a bruise there."

"Uhm- how did you get it?" He asks, almost scared of the answer.

"No idea. I guess I got it from my soul mate." I shrug.

"Oh- well I hope he's okay," he says, "Now let's get to dancing."

We dance to this song until it's over and he says he has to go. I give him a big hug and he walks out the door.
