Atmosphere changed, and seasons have passed, Damon and Elena look the same. They haven't aged a day, of all the days they've lived. 3 years have passed and Bonnie, Caroline and Elena are still in college getting their degrees. Bonnie is engaged to Jeremy. Stefan and Caroline have been growing close over the years and shared a few kisses but their relationship is slowly developing. A terrible tragedy has fallen onto the witch race, and a deadly sacrifice is the only cure.

"Elena we need to leave now." Damon takes my hand. "Stuff as many things in this bag as possible then we need to leave." He tosses an old brown bag my way. Determination and panic is splattered all over his face. He's already began throwing some of my valuables in the brown bag.
My eyebrows furrow and I bite my lip. "What? Why, Damon..? What's going on?"
He takes my face in my in his hands. "I'll explain everything soon I promise. But right now we need to get out of this town."
"W-Wait, what about Bonnie, Caroline..? Stefan, Jeremy.. Do they know that we're... leaving?"
"They'll meet us there. But right now we can't have anyone in town knowing we're going anywhere. It isn't safe. And you know that I value your safety before anyone else's."
"Okay." I nod. "I trust you."
He kisses my forehead. "Hurry. I love you and I need you to not do anything reckless for me, okay?"
"Okay."

Alright, so I will be making a sequel for this fan fiction ^.^ It will be called "Damon + Elena An Understanding". It will be a lot different and longer then this one. "An Understanding" will really take off into full flight while "Soul Connection" was the pre-flight at the airport.
