I Never Had to Walk That Mile

faded jeans and

gloomy faces

tired eyes and

opened cases

I tired so hard

believed in you

but it's gone to great waste

you've become something new

opened jars and

folded pages

dried up tears and

used up places

she warned me about your crushing smile

it seems now to me

I've walked that great mile
