The First Time

When I looked at you for the first time,
My eyes held anticipation.
When I spoke to you for the first time,
My mouth became parched.
When I touched you for the first time,
My skin got all tingly.
When I kissed you for the first time,
My heart exploded.

But then you left me. And then I met him.

When I looked at him for the first time,
My eyes held no emotion.
When I spoke to him for the first time,
My mouth stayed moist.
When I touched him for the first time,
My skin became numb.
When I kissed him for the first time,
My heart shattered into a million pieces.

But it didn't break because of immense pleasure, true love or pure adoration.
It broke because of the sadness and longing. Because I wished it was you that I was kissing, not him.
