Reunion and a game

Well, last night Kei and Tadashi stayed over. My opinion on them? Tadashi is a soft boy, and Kei must be protected. We got in a fight over who was the better breakfast cook, and settled it by having Tadashi taste our omelettes. They tasted the same.
The day passed uneventfully, except for Ryu-Senpai being slightly more excitable than normal. Eh.

After school, I got changed in the girls' clubroom. I agreed when Daichi said it was improper for me to use the boy's clubroom, even if that's the team I'm on. The girl's volley ball captain, Michimiya, is really nice, so that's good.

As I made my way to the gym, I thought about my sudden abilities. Super hearing, on and off. My body acting on it's own when I (I think) stopped a fight between Shoyo and Yutarou that I didn't know was going to happen. I shake my head. This is my first practice with a real team. I need to focus.
I stopped just outside the gym, sensing electricity. I'm not sure how to explain it. Not electricity, exactly. More like, every inch of me was tingling for no reason.
I heard a ball being received and hid outside the door.
"He's shorter than me," I hear Shoyo blurt. I almost laugh, but my gut twists when I hear the next voice.
"Huh?! Hey, what did you just say?!"
The voice sounds familiar.
I look around the corner and forget how to breathe. My voice gets stuck in my throat.
No. No way. He's dead, I just happen to be seeing his ghost. The back of it, anyway.
Since when do ghosts play volleyball?
"I'm sorry!" Shoyo sputters. "Um...how tall are you?"
"I'm 159 centimeters," the second person replied.
Tears stung my eyes. Mostly of confusion.
Shoyo's acting dazed.
"What's the matter with you?"
"It's just, you're only the second person I've looked down at since starting high school club activities!"
"Don't weep with joy about it! You're not looking that far down!"

"Hey, Noya-san!" Enter Ryu and the third years from the other door.
My tummy started hurting and I choked. It is Nisha.
"Hey, Ryu!"
"Nishinoya!" Calls Daichi. "Let me introduce you." He turns to Tobio and Shoyo.
"This is Nishinoya. Second-year."
"Hi!" He waves. "You two are first-years right? You! Tall guy with the scary face! What middle school did you go to?" Obviously addressing Tobio.
"Kitagawa Daiichi."
That was my middle school.
"No way! That's a power school! No wonder you serve like that!"
My heart starts beating faster, and my arms grow heavy and my legs are like lead. I turn away, and cry softly into my jacket.
He's alive. After nearly 10 years, I find out that my cousin and best friend is alive.
"Noisy as ever," I hear Daichi say, as Nisha continues with the other two.
"What middle school are you from, Nishinoya-san?" Shoyo asks.
"Chidoriyama!"
"That's a power school!" Tobio exclaims. "What made you come to Karasuno?" Shoyo again. "Do you look up to the Tiny Giant too?" He's the Tiny Giant's nephew!
"Or was it because you heard Coach Ukai was coming back?"
I manage to stop crying long enough to pour cold water on my eyes and wash my face. I'm gonna have to face him soon, and I don't want to look like a mess.
"No. I came to Karasuno because... I like the girls uniform!" Did...did I hear that right?
"Intensely. " I guess I did.
"And the girls have lived up to my expectations! And above all, the boys uniform is cool! In black!" To be fair, black is his favourite colour.
"Also, the school's close to home, so it was a no-brainer." My neighborhood is the closest to this school.
"Kiyoko-san! I've come to see you!" I hear a thump and some groaning, and assume Kiyoko moved to the side after Nisha launched himself at her.
"Well, he's a hurricane as always," there's Ryu-Senpai again. "Hey, Noya! We have a new member who wants to be a libero!"
"Really?" I can hear the excitement in his voice. "Where is he? What's his name?"
"Your kohai's name is Aki, and she should be arriving very soon."
"She?!"
"Yeah! Aki-san is awesome!" Shoyo, stop it. You're making me blush.
"She can receive nearly any ball! She can jump really high, too! Higher than me!" Hold on. What? Oh yeah. At the store last night. "She has speed, and seemingly indestructible. The amount of dives she can take and not bruise or have to sit out is incredible!"
I didn't even know Shoyo noticed. Being a dancer and skater most of my life, my body is pretty tough. I was only focused on the ball on Saturday.
"Well, I look forward to meeting her. And where's Asahi-san? Is he back yet?"
Silence.
Asahi? So that's how he knew so much about volleyball and the team!
"No," came Daichi's voice.
