“You're back.” Seungcheol said looking me up and down.
“I'm back.” I muttered looking down at my wedges again. I felt someone engulf me in a hug. “We missed you so much!” the person said.
“Jeonghan.” I said hugging him back. “I missed you too.” I continued.
We broke the hug and then we all just stood there awkwardly. “Anyway, Seungcheol. I hope you don't mind me on this case.” I said looking at him.
“That's fine with me, but you'll need this back.” He said before handing me my badge. He already knew I was here.
I started to speak but was interrupted by Seungcheol “This is my-”
“You're old badge.” he said nodding his head slightly.
“How do you know?” Hansol asked curiously looking between the two of us.
“The dent in the side.” we both said at the same time.
“That's kinda creepy guys.” Jun said. We both looked away and moved towards the evidence board.
“So um anyway, we have no way to tell why he did this but we know that whoever hacked the mall doors and cell signal chose to let the cameras run. We’re thinking he did it to mock the police, you know like to flaunt his power.” Seungcheol said.
“Okay so what are we planning on doing about it? We have evidence it was him, why don't we just arrest the SOB?” Hansol asked.
“It's not as easy as you think.” I mumbled.
“Shes right. She of all people would know. She came face to face with him and almost died.” Mingyu said.
“Really?! Can you tell us?!” asked the laptop guy. I don't remember his name and he didn't introduce himself. I just stared at him.
“Oh, sorry, Im Chan. It's nice to meet you.” he added obviously aware that I was lost on his name.
“I don't know if Em is really comfortable in telling that story.” Hoshi said setting his hand on my shoulder.
“It's fine Hosh. He's just curious about how I saved your guys asses, and I did not almost die Mingyu!” I said and began telling the story with Mingyu sulking in the corner.
“It was 2 years ago. We had solid evidence that The Mad Man had been dealing illegal drugs, and a lot of them with intent to sell them to every drug lord in Seoul. We found the warehouse where the trade was gonna happen so we got everything set up and in place and when the time came to bust him he captured the guys.
I was in the rafters of the warehouse doing what I was trained for, hitman. If the whole plan went belly up I was supposed to take The Mad Man out. He on the other hand, knew I was there. He wanted to play a game. He called out and said that if I didn't come out he would kill the guys. At that time Seungcheol, who was my fiance at the time was kidnapped and in The Mad Man's grasp. I hopped down from the rafters without a second thought. “Well, well, well, aren't you just a little spidermonkey?” he asked with a sick grin on his face as he held a knife to my fiance's throat.
“I'm here, give them back.” I said.
“Why don't you take that mask of yours off first?” he asked.
“No way in hell.” I replied.
“Then i'll kill them.” He shot back.
“Seems pretty cowardly of you to have hostages to make me do whatever you want.” I shot at him slowly and quietly with poison laced in my voice.
