Hey, this chapter is really short and probably gonna suck but it's something for now.
Nothing can help me. He is gonna have me. Whether it be by taking me away from them willingly or by bloodshed. I can't have it happen. I need to go willingly but that would just have the SVTPD units looking for me anyway. I need to get out of here with them convinced I don't want their help and don't need it which means heartbreak for all of us. Its okay though because I'm only doing it so they don't get hurt right?
I get no sleep because all I can think of is running. All I can think of is saving them all. But how? I have thought of a few ways but all of them end in heartbreak. I think I found one by the time Joshua and everyone else wakes up. It's going to be very dramatic and possibly emotional. Will it get them away? Hopefully.
I walk into the dining room to see all of them around the table talking.
"What's up guys?" I ask sitting down next to Joshua and Hoshi.
They were all serious. It must be about Chanyeol. Seungcheol slid a flower over to me. It was a white dahlia with a red ribbon on it with a black envelope attached.
"What is this?" I asked.
"Read it." Seungcheol said.
I opened the envelope and pulled out a note.
My dear angel, I'm coming for you.
I hope you're ready for what's to come.
Enjoy the dahlias, a little birdie told me their your favorite.
Sincerely,
PCY.
I dropped the paper on the table.
"Guys. Where did this come from?" I asked.
"It was outside on the doorstep this morning. Whoever dropped it rang the doorbell and ran. We couldn't catch anyone." Jeonghan said.
This is a perfect reason to start my plan. Before thinking or saying anything else I stand from the table and walk to Josh's room. I grab my bag of clothes and leave my phone on the dresser. I walk out to see 13 sets of eyes all looking at me.
"What do you think you're doing?" Seungcheol asks.
I look to Joshua and see fear on his face.
"I'm sorry but I'm out. I'm done with all of this. I'm leaving." I said.
"Emma think about this. You're safer here than you are anywhere else." Hoshi said standing up.
"No. I was safe before I took this case and now look where I'm at. I'm being chased by a psycho."
"You willingly took this case. You knew the risks and you took it anyway." Jihoon said sounding pissed.
"Yeah and now I have to use you as human shields and I'm not doing it. I'm done." I said walking towards the door.
Joshua shot up and grabbed my arm.
"Please think about this. You could be plucked off the street by him and none of us would know. We need you here to keep you safe. Please consider." He said with a calm but broken voice.
"I'm sorry Josh. I'm not gonna have your blood spilled because I was stupid enough to take this case. It would've been easier for all of us if I had just stayed in hiding and never had met you." I finished the sentence with a small voice crack at the end. I'm so happy to have met him. Honestly I really am. Not to mention Hansol and Chan. I'm happy I met them. But I can't keep putting them in harm's way.
Before Joshua could reply Seungcheol's voice was heard throughout the room.
"Hong, stand down. We're not going to stop her so just let her go." He used his chief voice but everyone could tell it was hard for him. Why? Because he's been through this once before. Only this time he's the one saying 'let her go'.
I give one last look and walk out the door.
