“Who’s it from?” Joshua asked.
“Chanyeol.” I replied shakily dropping the envelope.
“But that’s impossible. He’s locked up.” Josh said in disbelief.
“Apparently not.” I said panicking.
“I’m calling Seungcheol”
I sat down on the bed and stared at the note. If he's locked up then how the hell is he sending me notes? Did he already get out? What if he did? Will he come for us? I can't… I'll move if anything.
“He’s still there.” Joshua said putting his phone in his pocket.
“Then how?” I asked.
“Maybe he ordered someone else to send them.” He replied.
“That still means he has contact with people.” I said a little panicked.
“You need to calm down Emma.” He said calmly sitting next to me.
“I know.” I muttered.
“Jihoon is sending in the V unit to the hospital to keep an eye on you and Seungcheol and Hoshi are sending units H and P to where Park is until we transport him.”
“Okay.” I said.
I stood from the bed unplugging the cords in my arms.
“Where are you going?” He asked.
“Home.”
“No. You need treatment.” he said standing up.
“I'll be okay.” I said grabbing a pair of clothes I had Hoshi bring for when they release me.
“You can't go back to your house.” He said.
“I can.”
“Actually. You can't.” He said looking down.
“Why?” I asked.
“It is a mess. The SWAT team got a little out of hand when getting Chanyeol out.”
Dammit.
“You can stay at my place.” He said.
“No. I don't wanna intrude.”
“You're not. You're completely welcome.”
“Okay then, let's go.”
“That doesn't mean I'm letting you go. You need treatment.”
“Joshua listen, I don't want to be here. I want to go home but obviously that's not an option.” I said trying to guilt trip him.
“Sorry Emma but you have to stay here for now.” He says.
“Welp. She tried.” A voice said.
I turn around and see Jihoon and the other three members of the SVTPD’s V unit.
“Thanks for the commentary captain obvious.” I mumbled.
“Okay. Enough with the attitude. We’re here to work.” Jeonghan said seriously.
“Yes, thank you. First off we need to get her back in bed and plugged up to whatever it is she needs.” Jihoon said in his Leader voice.
They called in nurses to hook me backup to the machines and IVs. A little while later it was like they weren't even here to protect me. Like friends visiting their friend in a hospital for something other than getting abused by a deranged lunatic.
Soon enough though the fun had to end when a nurse came in a little while after we ate and said that I needed sleep and I could only have one visiter stay the night.
“Sorry ma’am but we’re not just visitors. We’re part of SVTPD’s V unit and we’ve been ordered to look after this patient.” Jihoon said.
“Well… I’m sorry I can’t let you stay unless you have a pass from our chief of medicine.” She muttered.
“Where is he then?” he asked getting a little annoyed.
“C-c-come with me.” she stuttered.
Jihoon and Jeonghan both went with the nurse leaving the rest of the V team in a silence.
“Soooo seungkwan.” Dokyeom started.
“Yeah?” Seungkwan answered looking up from his phone.
“I want coffee.” Dokyeom stated.
“Then go get coffee.” he answered looking back to his phone.
Dokyeom hit Seungkwan and Cleared his throat. “I want coffee.” he repeated hitting him again.
Seungkwan looked up and got what Dokyeom was hinting at. “I’ll go with you.” he muttered standing up.
“We’ll be right back.” they both said walking out of the room.
“They’re not the slickest bunch are they?” I asked Joshua.
“Not a chance.” he muttered.
“Hey Josh?”
“Yeah?”
“Do you think Chanyeol will actually stay in prison?”
“I don’t know Emma. He’s rich and powerful but we also have a bunch of evidence against him.”
“I hope he stays locked up and far away from me.”
“Either way he’ll stay far away from you. I’ll make sure of that.” he said hugging me and kissing the top of my head.
“I hope you’re right.” I muttered leaning into him.
I know this sucked but I have had writers block and school for the past few months. I'm sorry and will try to update a new and hopefully better chapter soon.
