"Well, hello, how have you been?" Lucy asks when we walk through the door. This is the last time Lucy is going to be with us, because the next time when we are coming to the hospital, it will be to give birth. Lucy won't be there, only Lacey, and a few other nurses will. I let go of Peeta's hand and get up on the hospital bed, lifting up my skirt.

"Oh, we've been alright." I say. I remember very well what Peeta did yesterday.

"Good!" Lacey says and starts the ultrasound machine. She takes out the gel and puts a little on my enormous abdomen. It really is huge. I take Peeta's hand and he squeezes it. Lacey watches the picture for a while, now you really can see the baby's limbs and body features. Then, she turns off the machine and says to us:

"The baby will probably be ready in a week, that's on Saturday." she smiles. A saturday. Mother will be her in time. Unless she decides to come early. The baby I mean. I look at Peeta. He looks really excited. I feel excited too. In only one week, we will have a daughter. I can't wait. Lacey gives Peeta a towel and he starts cleaning my stomach. He kisses me and I kiss him too.

"In one week, we will be parents." he says, and smiles a smile that gets his eyes to twinkle. I get up and when we are utside the room, Peeta grabs me and spins me around. I wonder how he does that, I've got a lot of extra pounds on now. But he doesn't complain.

"I love you so, so much, Katniss, never forget that." he says and I grab his face. I kiss him hard.

"Peeta, I love you too." I say, and after that we walk home hand in hand.

*Next Thursday*

"Uhhh... do I have to get up already? This was a really short nap." I moan and bury my face in the pillow. Peeta strokes my back.

"Well, I'm going to get your mother from the train station in ten minutes, so if you want to come, you'll better get ready." he says.

"Are we taking the car?" I say, I would really not want to walk to the train station right now. Peeta bought us a car a few years ago, so we could drive longer distances, but we haven't really used it much. We'll use it when I have to give birth, though.

"Yeah, I was figuring that your mother most likely has heavy suitcases with her and if I'm going to take my nine months pregnant wife with me, I think she would prefer to go by car." he says. He already knows I will come with him, he knows me so well.

"Ok, I'll come. But you probably know that already." I say, trying to get up from bed. Peeta has to help me, it gets too difficult. He helps me to dress and then we head out to the car. It's a simple black car, nothing special. We get in and Peeta starts the car. It takes about ten minutes to reach the train station, and when we are there, Peeta gets out and opens my door. He takes my hand to help me out, and then we walk out to the platform. A train stops in front of us, and we see a few people walk out before Mother does. She is carrying one suitcase, and she looks really happy. We start walking towards her, and when she reaches us, we hug and she kisses our cheeks.

"Oh, Katniss, you look so beautiful!" she squeals. I have never heard her squeal before, she must have recovered a lot. Or come to her senses. I laugh a little, and Peeta takes her suitcase. We start walking towards the car, and I sit with Peeta in the front seat. If we collide, that will be safer for the baby. Mother sits down on the back seat and Peeta starts driving back.

"So, did they tell you when it's happening?" she asks. I'm glad that she isn't super chatty by nature, I would really not feel like being social right now. So I just answer the question.

"They told us it will happen in two days, on Saturday." I say.

"Oh, are you ready for giving birth?" she asks. I haven't really thought about that. All I have been thinking about is how happy I will be when it is done, not the pain of doing it. I think for a moment.
