"Lights out"

Alright honey, it's night time so lights out,
I want you to close your eyes and dream right now,
Cover your ears, in the city the nights loud.
Or listen to the gentle purr followed by the cats meow.

Daddy loves you with all his heart,
In my life you're a big part.
In my new life you are the start,
Of my fatherhood you're my star.

I love you, yeah daddy loves you,
Your highness nothing comes above you,
You look just like mom, you both like to run too!
Sadly she had to leave as soon as you'd become two.

Daddy is your protector and your savior,
I'll buy you anything as long as you watch your behavior.
Maybe we can watch some fights between the biggest wranglers,
Or we can hang posters up on your wall using staplers.

Ok, anyways you have to go to bed now,
Go ahead, rest your head, do as I said now.
Dad had to catch bad guys again now,
Don't ever wake up feeling you should dread loud,

Go to bed, rest your head turn the lights out.

My daddy was off to work, an officer to the force,
He caught bad jerks, whom steal from the local store.
He likes to eat donuts on his break, go to sleep and snore,
He likes to come home and build me a fort, on the floor.

He smiles even when he's tired,
He's had this job forever never got fired.
Fired is a double meaning, one just expired.
As I saw my dads blood crawling from his body like a spider.

I dropped my bag, screamed for dad.
He was the only life I had.
Two guys mowed him down, ran away and laughed,
Now I am sad, I'm also mad I didn't want that!

He was supposed to be my hero,
Now his heart beats a zero,
Now he's looking up at the sky like it's a mirror,
Nothing in life will ever be vivid and clearer.

Lights out, last thing he told me,
Lights out, now he can't see,
Lights out, what am I supposed to be,
Lights out, this is all a Dream.... hopefully.
