DEMON!HELL!AU!

One minute I was stood in front of what seemed to be a pair of golden gates. They shone brightly, as if they were polished every five minutes, and I appeared to be floating. Then, a red light flashed from behind the gates. This all happened so quickly, I could just about register what was happening before the ground(?) had given way and I fell.

Fast. Shapes and figures blurred past me as I was falling. Then darkness. It was almost pitch black. I looked around and impossibly, it seemed to be getting even darker. I could barely make out large, creepy forms of what seemed to be creatures before I shot down past them. They seemed to be laughing at me, as their voices rung out in the darkness.

It wasn't pleasant laughing, like a friendly laugh, it was cruel laughter, mocking me as I fell into the unknown abyss. I fell with a loud thump onto damp and murky earth. For some odd reason, I didn't feel the impact that should have been built up from the fall. I stood up, and in front of me stood yet another gate.

It wasn't impeccably clean or made out of gold. Instead, it was made out of wood, yet it stood as tall and imposing as the other gate. Screams and cries of pain emmited from the other side of the gate. In front of the gate stood a large, weathered, stone font. There were three images carved into the font that seemed very...vivid.

In the first image, there was what seemed to be a light source flashing from the first gates that I had visited. The second depicted what seemed to be naked, screaming humans, being dragged into large gates, not unlike the ones that I currently standing in front of. I looked around to the third and final image.

A shadowy being was sat on a throne, and in front of them was a pair of weighing scales, weighing on one side a bloody heart, and on the other, a feather. I gulped. Is this what was to happen to me? As I clocked this, I laid my eyes back on the gates, and my head started throbbing with a dull, painful ache, around my forehead.

Then, my back started to feel as if it was tearing. My eyes then felt as if they were burning and my teeth started to hurt. For some odd reason, my tongue felt as if it was ripping in two. I then heard the faint ripping of fabric. The pain soon started to become more intense. I stumbled around as I put my palms over my eyes and my head, and started to moan and groan in pain.

The moans and groans soon turned into screams and I was soon crouching on the floor in a ball. The pain soon stopped. I sat up giddily and looked around. My back felt a little heavier, as did my head. I crawled up to the stone font and looked into the water, when my heart jumped into my mouth.

A demon was staring back at me. It looked almost exactly like me, only with large, black horns, bright, blood-red eyes, long, sharp fangs, and huge, but oddly hauntingly beautiful black, feathered wings. I gasped and caught a glimpse of my tongue, which was now split in two. My eyes filled with hot tears, and my vision became red for some reason. As my tears slinked down my face, they fell into the water.

My eyes widened in shock and I stumbled away from the font. The tears swirled around in the water before they dissolved. How could I tell, you ask? The tears were blood. The doors opened suddenly and bright, blood-red light beamed out of them. My heart rate increased. Is this how I was going to end? As an ugly, terrifying demon?

I ran, but as soon as I reached a little behind the font, I stopped. It was as if an invisible forcefield held me back. I started to hyperventilate, and I banged my fists on the invisible barrier. "L-let me out! I haven't done anything wrong! Please, anyone!" I hiccuped and the mocking laughter seemed louder than ever. I heard footsteps behind me and I froze.
