"Lavanaya, What the hell did you do now?" Arnav's voice boomed making Khushi and Lavanya to jump into their place and they turned to look at him.
-------
Lavanya looked at him nervously as she tried to clear her point "ASR, I was just...." but she was interrupted by Arnav "That's why I didn't want to leave you alone with Khushi. the way you were talking so nonchalantly about her father's illness, I knew you're incapable of understanding the sensitivity of the situation."
Arnav could have continued more, uncaring of Lavanya's tears if Khushi wouldn't have interrupted. As much his sudden change in behavior towards her is confusing her, it is making her feel safe also but in his anger he is hurting her friend. "Arnav ji, she was just trying to support me. She didn't say or do anything to hurt me. It is me, just the thought of Babu ji made me cry. Please don't shout at Lavanya ji, she was trying to support me as a friend."
Khushi explained the situation and Lavanya fled away from there, crying but Arnav's focus was on Khushi. It is the longest he have heard from her, from yesterday, even if it was for her friend but he at least got the glimpse of his old, defensive Khushi. Wait. What? His Khushi? Arnav's mind chided making him snap out of his thoughts.
Arnav clears his throat before speaking "Ok, I got it. I'll talk to her but I.... umm... I am here to tell you something. Actually no, I am here to ask something from you." Khush was looking at him curiously, the Arnav ji she knew, don't stammers while talking "What is it?"
Arnav looks into his eyes, no wanting to miss the change of emotions he can see in them "Payal is here. She wants to meet you. Do you?" He looks at her surprised as a hint of smile graced her lips and her eyes shined in happiness "Jiji is here? For me?" Arnav nodded as he realized that Akash was right, it should be Khushi who should decide if she wants to meet Payal or not and he is glad he actually heard otherwise he would have lost the chance to see this happiness shining in her eyes.
"Let me go and meet her." Khushi speaks as she tried to walk hurriedly towards the door but Arnav stopped her in midway. "You stay back here only, your body still needs rest not running around." Khushi tried to speak something but Arnav interrupted her before she can speak "I know. I will bring her to you." Khushi nodded knowing very well that there is no use of any argument with him.

Arnav walks beside Payal as they walked towards the room where Khushi is staying. His thoughts completely wrapped around the expressions he saw on her face, from the time he brought her with him, she was looking like a lifeless soul but today she first tried to defend Lavanya and now the twinkle in her eyes when she heard Payal is here to meet her. He knew she is selfless and it scares him after where it has brought her.
He nodded at Payal after reaching in front of the door and opened it for her to go inside. He looked on as Khushi's eyes brightened looking at her sister and soon the sisters were crying in each other's arms. He was going to walk away leaving them alone but the new protective side of his for Khushi stopped him and he decided to stand outside only.
"I knew, whatever Bua ji said, it was in anger. I knew, once her anger and shock calms down, she will call be back." Khushi speaks still engulfed in Payal's arms who abruptly stopped, stroking her back, hearing her words. Arnav frowned, hearing Khushi's words, after whatever happened she still wants to go to that damned place.
"Let's go, Jiji. I can't wait to meet Amma. She must be completely broken, we need to support each other in this hard time." Khushi speaks coming out of Payal's arms and started to move but Payal holds her back. Khushi looked at her with a frown but Payal only focused on their entwined hands. Arnav looked at them knowing very well what is coming next, he is not an emotional fool like Khushi.
