"In order for me to savor the death of you I've waited so long for," Voldemort began, "I must extinguish all that keeps you lively and hopeful, preventing me from killing you.

"First, we have here the brightest witch. Too bad she isn't all too bright." A collective chuckle. "She was always the one to strategize your escapes and help you navigate your way through the years at Hogwarts, maintaining a relationship as your best friend."

"Avada Kedevra!" Umbridge shouted.

Harry's muffled screams erupted as tears welled in his eyes, staring in disbelief at Hermione's dead, sagging body.

"Ron Weasley," Voldemort continued. "Your best friend from the start. You two have fought through so much and stayed together to strive through the worst of things. With Hermione and Ron by your side, you had gotten through everything."

"Avada Kedevra!" Lucius said.

Harry cried out again, stabbing pains in his chest as Ron's eyes, too, lost their light and he sagged forward.

"Luna Lovegood. The girl who believed you when close to no one else would; the girl who made you know for a fact you weren't insane. You could relate to her on an emotional level and vice-versa. She has been by your side whether you wanted it or not, helping you through the worst of times."

"Avada Kedevra!" Bellatrix bellowed insanely.

Harry's eyes shut as he tried to block out Luna's peaceful, glowing face turning dull, but he couldn't, his burning tears drenching his face.

"Ginny Weasley. A close, dear friend of yours to be like the sister you've never had. She's reminded you of your mother in a way—caring, compassionate, kind. She was always by your side, alike Luna, even when you upset her. She loves you dearly, but you could not return what she has given."

"Avada Kedevra!"

Harry couldn't breathe anymore. He felt like his lungs have been denied any oxygen. His heart swelled as more tears fell down his face.

"Teddy Tonks. You haven't known him long but you hold him close in your heart. He's like a child of your own and a blessing from his mother; you love him with all your heart and would die for him."

"Avada Kedevra!"

Harry's eyes were bloodshot as he sobbed onward, feeling guilty and awful for the death of those he loved.

"Lastly, Draco Malfoy. Enemies since you've met. Although he's never treated you right, you've had a strange attraction to him. You have loved him from the beginning and tried to shove away those feelings with every girl you've been interested in, but no matter what you did, nothing brightens your day more than the criticizing words of your dearest."

"Avada Kedevra!"

Harry's cries were released as he called out for Draco. He felt his heart physically breaking as he finally ripped off the ropes chaining him. He tried to run to Draco who say lifeless only to be held back by the person behind him. He fought and struggled; nothing worked, though, and he was dragged away from the place where the broken pieces of his heart would lay forevermore.

He was thrown back into his cell as he staggered around before falling into a broken heap on the floor. Harry shook and trembled from the overwhelming sadness that took him over as the merciless reality of their deaths settled in; he felt a cold hand rubbing his back.
