"I can still hear Aria's voice. We've got to reach her!" Adrian shouted with frustration. He was sweating hard and was panicking.
"She said she couldn't see anything. It's dark. Shit. If only I could communicate with her." Adrian said. Patrick just stared at him, thinking of how he could help his friend.
Emma fell silent for a moment. "I think I will be able to help." She thought. She stared at the palm of her hands and breathed heavily. She closed her eyes and tried to concentrate. She was able to find her center as everything went silent. A light was shining in the midst of the oblivion in her mind. She held her breath as it shun brightly.
She opened her eyes and went for Adrian.
"Let me help." Emma said as she touched Adrian's face.
Adrian's eyes grew wide as he heard different voices which seemed like coming from different places. Everything was inaudible. Normally, he could only focus and listen from 5 to 10 people in a small proximity. He blinked and this time he was screaming. "Ahhh! So many voices! Urrrrgh!" Patrick was struggling and was in cringing in the ground as his eyes turned white. Emma wouldn't let go of him.
"Adrian! Focus! Find your center! Look for Ariadne and the shadow's voice! They should be together!" Emma shouted at him as he was struggling with the pain in his head.
"Adi, we need you to look for her. Aria's life is in danger for every second wasted." Patrick said as he grabbed on to his shoulders to get him stable.
Adrian went silent and was gritting his teeth as he was struggling to concentrate. His sweat were like drops of rain. This time, he kneeled and was able to take all of the voices he was hearing. He first focused his attention to Ariadne's voice. Slowly, the voices were receding and his mind went to a silent.
"Adi." He heard her voice. "Aria." He whispered. "Oh my god! I can hear you Adi." Aria was stunned. "Emma helped." He said. "A nosy girl." She remorsed. Adrian chuckled. "Do you see anything around you?" Adi asked. "It's not clear but seems like an antenna at the top of a building." Aria whispered. "Shit. Of all times, it's raining and there's no sun." Adi said. "Ça va. The wind is gushing in my direction." Ariadne added.
"Look for the shadow's voice. It should be around Aria's vicinity." Patrick requested.
Adrian closed his eyes again. "I'm hearing a buzz." He said with wonder. "That's the shadow. Now, look for another person nearby. Listen to what he's thinking." Patrick commanded.
Adrian heard another voice. "... God, let me just finish my shift in this shitty place and I will be able to party with my homies later. Sammy said we'll party in the Cove. At least it's just two blocks away from here." Adrian opened his eyes. "Two blocks away from the Cove!" Adrian suddenly thundered.
"It's in downtown!" Emma said. "Let's fly to get there. We need to find the visual of the antenna Aria said." Patrick added. Emma grabbed Patrick and Adrian's hand and they started to hover over the school building. "Aria, can you tell me more about the antenna you're seeing?" Adrian asked.
"The antenna's striped in white and red like a mini Eiffel." Ariadne answered.
"I think I know that building. We just need to know the location according to the wind's direction. Let's hurry." Patrick concluded.
The three flew swiftly up north from the school where downtown Springfield is located. "Aria, hold on." Adrian thought. "I will, Adi." Ariadne replied.
"We'll definitely save her. We'll get her back." Emma promised Adrian as her grip was stronger at his hand. Adrian smiled back and nodded.
The drops of the rain was hitting Emma's face as they were picking up speed with their flying towards downtown. Emma could not see clearly and the three of them were already damp. Patrick raised his hand amidst flying and created an invisible wall in front of them. "Better?" Patrick smiled at him. "Thanks." Emma said whilst smiling back.
