Rose's POV
The morning of September the first was rushed and chaotic. I overslept, Hugo was in the bathroom for way too long, and mum burnt the pancakes she decided to make us.
We eventually made it to King's Cross station, where we met up with our cousins, the Potters. James had graduated and wasn't here, it was Albus's last year as well, and it was Lily's 5th year, the same as Hugo. Lily and I always shared a room at the Burrow at Christmas and Easter. Pretty much just whenever we went to stay there. We had a big room that Dominique and Roxanne stayed in as well when everyone was there. We'd all stay up far past when we were supposed to, and it had been the same since I was 5 years old. Just how I liked it. The four of us were best friends.
"Hey Lils!" I said as we walked up to where the Potter's were. "Hey Al!"
No matter how close I was with Lily, Roxy and Dom, Albus has always been my very best friend. My first friend really. Our birthdays are only weeks apart, and we were friends before we could walk and talk.
"Hey there Rosie Posie!" Al said.
"Hey Rose! Good to see you!" Lily said.
I hugged each of them in turn and we made our way through the barrier to Platform 9 and 3 quarters. Hugo and Lily took off down the platform to find an empty compartment and put our luggage in it.
"So how has your summer been? I can't believe we only saw you once the whole time!" I asked Al, starting a conversation.
"It was pretty good actually. We went over to Belgium for our yearly holiday. The food was amazing!" He said, making a sort of 'Voila' or 'Magnificent' symbol with his fingers.
We walked down to where Hugo and Lily were standing and put our luggage onto the train.
"It's two minutes till the train leaves, you should probably get on," Mum informed us.
We said our goodbyes and got on the train just before it left, waving to our parents as we moved out of the station.
It was just Hugo, Lily, Al and myself until we heard the door of the compartment slide open. In walked Roxy and Dom.
"Rose! Finally! We've been looking for you!" Roxy said.
"Ready for our last year before freedom?" Dom asked over dramatically.
I laughed and replied with a simple "Hi." as they sat down with us.

The train ride went smoothly, and soon enough we were boarding the carriages from Hogsmeade Station to the castle. I grabbed a carriage and Al, Dom Roxy and Lily got in it with me. I don't know where Hugo disappeared to, but I hadn't seen him since he went to get changed. He was probably with some of his other friends. We rode in silence, because I wanted to take in my last start-of-the-year-carriage-ride-to-the-castle.
This was the beginning of the end of the whole experience. It was just a whole lot of lasts. Soon it would be last start of year feast and the last sorting I would see.
The carriage took about 10 minutes to get to Hogwarts. We all shuffled through the gates to get our names checked off, and made our way to sit at our house tables in the Great Hall.
We all were chattering amongst ourselves when McGonagall came in with all the first years. The sorting ceremony began with the sorting hat's song. I wasn't really listening after that, but I expect it went a little something like this.
"HUFFLEPUFF"
"SLYTHERIN"
"GRYFFINDOR"
"HUFFLEPUFF"
"RAVENCLAW"
"RAVENCLAW"
"GRYFFINDOR"
"SLYTHERIN"
And so on.
The feast ended and I went to go up to Gryffindor tower with Roxy, but I was stopped by McGonagall.
"Rose, I have some business to take care of before our meeting, but I'll only take a minute. You're welcome to take yourself up to my office and I'll be there soon. The password's chocolate frog," she said, then rushed past me.
"What was that about?" Roxy asked as we started walking.
"Oh, I'm head girl. I've got to go to her office to talk about stuff," I told her.
"Head girl! why didn't you tell me!" Roxy said, sounding annoyed.
"Dunno, guess I forgot to, I suppose," I said as we parted ways.
I made my way up to McGonagall's office and let myself in. I closed the door and sat down in one of the blue chairs in front of the desk.
I heard the door click open again. And in came none other than Scorpius Malfoy.
There was no one I hated more. He was one of those boys that girls drooled over. Everyone wanted their chance to get with him. But not me. I couldn't stand him. Some of my cousins would talk about him, about how good looking he was. He had slightly too long pale blond hair and striking silvery grey eyes. But in my opinion his face was all out of proportion. I don't know if it was, or if I just hated him that much that I mentally made him look weird in my head. We never got on very well. He spent a bit of time with Al, but I think Dad's opinion of the Malfoy's rubbed off on me a bit.
But anyway, that is where we get to the present. How I am stuck sitting in an office with Scorpius Malfoy.
AN: Yeah I know it's suckish. I'm not a very good writer. And I'm not very good at writing long parts. So maybe that'll mean lots of shorter parts. But if you're still here next chapter is where the Scorpius/Rose interaction starts. Not necessarily good, but they'll talk. I think I might fail at writing this whole story but it's something I want to do so I'm going to write it anyway. If your still here I love you <3
