Rose's POV
I wake up Saturday morning bright and early. I never seem to be able to sleep in. Even when I really want to. I can function on about 2 hours sleep. I don't really understand it.
I drag myself into the bathroom to wash my face. My hair isn't as messy as it usually is, so I decide to brush it with an actual hairbrush, then put it in a side braid.
I throw on my favourite pair of skinny jeans, an old tee shirt and a my favourite unravelling Weasley jumper. The blue one.
I creep out to the kitchen. It's even earlier than I usually get up, so there's no way Scorpius will be up yet. Especially since it's Saturday. I go searching in the cupboard for something that doesn't require me to do any cooking. I really feel like pop tarts, but I seriously doubt that we'd have any here.
I've only ever had pop tarts once. We were on a holiday with the Potters, and Lily and I bought a box at a muggle shop full of food from all over the world. They were cookie dough flavour and I really liked them.
To my surprise, at the very back of the cupboard, is a box of pop tarts. Probably because I wanted them. Magic is good.
I open the box and grab a packet, then creep out of the common room, down the hallways, to the entrance hall, and out the door. I stroll down to my favourite spot under a tree near the lake.
I just sit for a while, nibbling on my pop tarts, staring at the sky. I came outside just as the sun was rising. It was quite a nice sight. I don't see the sun rise very often. Even though I'm usually up before everyone else.
I look over at the castle, and I see a figure in the distance walking over to where I am. I squint to see who it is, but I can't seem to make it out. Whoever it is comes closer and closer until they are almost recognisable.
"Thought I might find you here," Albus yells out to me, as he walks over and sits down next to me.
"How's life going living with Scorpius?" he asks.
"Not too bad actually," I say.
"No fighting?"
"No fighting."
"No arguments about who gets the best seat in front of the fire?"
"Nope."
"I'm impressed."
We talk for a while, and somehow the topic of next months Hogsmeade visit comes up.
"Rose I need advice," Albus says, sounding a bit nervous.
"Ask away favourite cousin! Do you need some pop tart?" I reply cheerfully, offering him the packet.
"What even are poptarts?" he asks
"Biskity chocolatey icingy breakfast goodness!" I reply, acting very over the top.
"Ahh, no thanks. Anyway... I just... there's this girl.... Rose how do I ask a girl out?" Al mumbles, struggling to find the right words.
"Aww, whose the lucky girl?" I tease.
He glares, and responds with, "Chloe, that Ravenclaw girl, I really like her."
"That's sweet. I don't really know her really well but I'd say next time you're talking to her, ask her if she wants to go to Hogsmeade with you. Take her to a nice cafe or something. Do something romantic for her. I think she'd like that."
Al smiles, responds with a "Thanks," and flops down onto his back to look at the clouds.
We stay out and talk for hours until we decide it's time for lunch. So we go up to the great hall to eat.
--------------------
After an afternoon with girls, finding out all the latest gossip and doing what we do, I decide it's time for me to head back to my own common room.
I walk in to find Scorpius messing around in front of the couch with a television.
"Where did you get that?" I ask, and Scorpius jumps, he obviously hadn't heard me come in the door.
"Muggle studies, but I don't know how to work it. Help?" he says, sounding a little unsure of what he's going on about.
"You don't even do Muggle studies. Here just let me do it," I say, taking the masses of cords from him. I plug them into the right holes, and set up the DVD player he has also brought. I knew how to do it from staying with my grandparents on mum's side. Dad refuses to 'Go Muggle' And says that we have magic so we'll use it. He has nothing against muggles though.
"You're a genius Rose!" Scorpius says as the screen lights up.
The coffee table has a stack of DVDs that look like they could topple over any second.
"I got some DVDs for us to watch!" Scorpius says, sounding very proud of himself "What would you like to watch?"
I look through the pile of DVDs and smile when I find the first season of my favourite TV show, Pretty Little Liars.
"This!" I say, as I pull it out of the pile, causing about 20 DVDs to topple to the ground.
Whoops.
Scorpius helps me pick up the DVDs, and I show him how to use the DVD player.
He gives me a triumphant look as the first episode starts playing.
The familiar theme song starts
Got a secret can you keep it....
Halfway through the second episode Scorpius starts talking.
"Hey Rose I've got a secret to tell you," he says, sounding like the normal overconfident person he is.
"Tell me then," I say.
"No I want to whisper it to you."
"No ones here"
"Just humour me?"
I sigh, get of the armchair I'm sitting in and kneel down in front of the couch Scorpius is curled up on.
"What's the secret?" I ask.
He whispers in my ear, "The secret isss....." then he turns my head and kisses me, slowly and sweetly.
"... I really really like you," he finishes.
I blush, and smile to myself.
"Sit with me?" he asks, making room for me next to him on the lounge.
I get up from my knees and sit myself down next to him. He puts his arm around me and pulls me closer to him. We stay like that until the disk runs out of episodes and I'm almost falling asleep.
"Time for bed hey Rose?" Scorpius teases.
I get up and go to head off to my room, but not before Scorpius can grab me and pull me back to say goodnight. He kisses me again, and pulls me in for a warm hug.
"Goodnight Rose," he says softly.
"Goodnight Scorpius"
He lets go, and I creep off to bed. I didn't know that I felt this way about him, but apparently I do. Who would have thought that I'd end up falling for one of the people I've always hated more than anything.
