Song of the Chapter- Runnin' By Beyonce (Jack Avery Remix)
Once we made our arrival to Chipotle we quickly ordered. Jonah, Daniel, Jack, and Zach got theirs to go. "Do you just want to come to sound check with us?" Jonah asked us. I looked at J and P and we all agreed to it without even saying anything. "That's a yes from us" Jenna said. The boys all looked confused. "We really know each other" I said over exaggerating 'really'. They all nodded, acting like they understood. I found it really funny. We headed to the venue after that. I suppose our limelight lasted a while longer than everyones else.
Once we got to the venue the boys got out and got us past the security and backstage. This place was huge! Jonah led us all to the stage and we sat in the seats while the boys did sound check. Let me tell you these guys were helping me forget everything that happened with Elien, and my whole life situation right now. Corbyn was still gone though. "Hey does anyone know where Corbyn is? Sound check is almost over and he still hasn't shown up. If he's napping someone please go get him." Jonah asked through the mic. One of the stage managers came out and told all the boys that he had permission to miss it because he was still with his mom.
"Okay, no Corbyn then." Jack said through the mic. "I'll cover his parts," Zach said. "Okay guys ready?" Daniel asked. Thye then started singing the beginning Jenna's favorite song, Trust Fund Baby. We were all having a blast in the audience when their manager came out and asked the boys who we are and what we were doing there. Daniel explained that we were their guests and that we were about to go to limelight with the rest of our group anyway. He and all of us played tag in the auditorium area of the arena. Soon enough The manager came back, but this time he was with Corbyn. Which meant it was time for limelight. They led us to the back and we all got in line. A group of girls and their families started gathering behind Paislee, Jenna, and I. After about ten minutes they started letting us in. We hung out towards the back of the room and let the others spend their time with the boys, after ours was over Jack grabbed my hand and in a chain reaction Paislee grabbed mine then Jenna grabbed hers. He led us to their green room so that we could hang out with them before the show.
After about an hour the band came back. We all just chilled for a while but Corbyn stayed pretty much to himself the whole time just playing on his phone. I didn't think much of it. Jonah sat over there talking to him for awhile. We played a few games and got to know each other. Then the girls and I headed down to the pit to watch the show.
The set was amazing. I was singing, dancing, just having fun. I was in nirvana everything kinda flashed and I forgot everything and just had fun. My endurance and excitement ended shortly after the concert. I missed it. The feeling of being infinite without drugs and alcohol. Paislee grabbed our hands and pulled us through the crowd. Once we got outside we realized we left Jenna's car at the hotel. So we went to the back of the venue where the boys were. Security was trying to keep us but Zach ran up front and let us back there. "So we kinda don't have a car here, and no money to uber." Paislee said shyly. "No problem you guys can ride back with us, but we'll be here for a little while" Corbyn said. He was finally speaking up I was happy to hear his voice. Something just felt off when he wasn't excited. After about an hour we were back at the hotel. I hugged the guys and we thanked them.
We headed back to our room and I hugged my girls while they grabbed their stuff. "Hey, it will be okay tomorrow I promise." Paislee said wiping my tear. I had not even realized that I was crying. "Text me when you get home" I told them. We all hugged. "I promise it will be alright Brenna Jo" Jenna said giving me a huge a million dollar smile. I was so lucky to have such amazing friends. I walked them downstairs and out to the car. "I love you guys, promise you'll let me know you get home safe?" I asked. They both said I promise in unison.
I watched them pull away and then headed back upstairs to the hotel room. I showered and put on some shorts and a tank top. I pulled my long light blonde hair into a ponytail and took my guitar out to the patio again. I began strumming once again. I began to play runnin by Beyonce. "These four lonely walls have changed the way I feel" I paused for a moment. "The way I feel, Standing still.." I began to sing. I continued "Nothing else matters now, your not here." I wiped my tear and continued singing, "Where are you? I've been calling you, I'm missing you." I sang. I looked out towards the big city buildings. "Where else can I go? Where else can I go? CHasing you, chasing you." I closed my eyes and took a breath. I was finally alone so I could let out all my emotions. "Memories turn to dust, please don't bury us. I got you, I got you." I paused and got ready to sing the chorus. "I aint runnin', runnin', runnin', runnin', runnin', running from myself no more. I'm ready to face it all." I stopped singing but continued strumming the song on my guitar. I can't run from this anymore. My life changes tomorrow back to how it was supposed to be in the first place. I had to face it all, my mom, my siblings, my blood.
A/N: Next chapter will be it in a few hours. It's really deep and I want it to be longer so be prepared!
Much love,
Morgan
