"And over here is the monument," Ella pointed to the large statue to a man " it's Leonardo Da Vinci, apparently he grew up around this area? I don't know to be honest"
"Hm," I studied the statue, it looked old.
"Follow me!" Ella continued
•
"Annnd the main building, it's where the office is, and where we eat lunch." Ella smiled "and it's quite nice on the inside, oh also, I know a great balcony where you can see the stars at night, I'll show you"
"Well, after you" I gestured to the door and Ella giggled
•
"Here we are." She sighed as she opened the big doors to the building.
It was magnificent. The floors were marble and the roof reminded me of Grand Central Station, but instead of there being hundreds of people in the lobby, there were only about four professional men and women, that I assumed were teachers or people that worked in the office.
"Okay so that's the office" Ella pointed to a big room on the corner, "and over here is the lunch room," we walked towards a large opening and walked into a huge room with a ton of tables and chairs with a large buffet at the left side of the cafeteria.
"So far, I'm impressed," I smiled at Ella, she returned the gesture "I would hope so" she laughed lightly
•
"And here's that balcony I was telling you about, when it gets dark the stars are so vivid. The only light are the small foot lights on the side walk down there" she pointed to the sidewalk students walk on to get from building to building.
I smiled at her and made sure I knew where I was. It would really suck if I lost my way tonight. I noticed a small chair right inside before the balcony, and a small crack in a pice of marble right at the door, maybe those will help me find what I'm looking for later.
"Anyway, it's getting late. Ready for dinner?" Ella shook me from my thoughts.
•
Dinner was nice, Ella cooked like back home. I would cook every so often, like when she was having her depressive waves come through. But normally she refused for me to cook, she loved trying new recipes, and foods.
"It's good!" I said mouth full of tortellini, "I love the sauce! What is it"
"Just some homemade Alfredo, nothing special. But I just thought we should really embrace the culture of Italy for our first meal together here," she said, sorta poking fun at herself and I laughed
"You know I start dance next week, I'm excited" Ella's been doing ballet since she was three, she was at the top of all her dance classes.
"I bet!" I grinned
"Mhm, and piano starts Friday"
Let's just say, Ella is a child of many talents. When she started to pick up the piano at around age 9 it reminded me of Elio. She was a natural, just like him. She could play very complicated songs at about her 4th month of getting into it. At first, it made me emotional, thinking of Elio when she played, but soon I just learned to close my eyes and imagine him sitting at that chair, so many years ago, toying with me.
"Are you excited?"
"Yeah, I hope my teachers not mean though. They haven't given me the name of the teacher yet so I haven't asked around to see if he's horrible or not."
"I'm sure they're not going to be too bad"
"I hope not."
And it went like that. We talked about her new friends, and I tried to avoid talking about Elio, I didn't know what might slip out if I just started rambling off about him. It was nearing my time to meet him
11:04
"Well, daddy dearest. I need sleep. I have to get up for school tomorrow, bleh" she made a silly face and stuck her tongue out, obviously it thrilled with the thought of school.
"Okay, okay," I laughed a little. "Hey, I think I might go for a walk, is that alright?"
"I don't care, just be safe!" She kissed me quick of the cheek and I sighed at my last, uneaten tortellini
let's go.
•
I walked in the cold November air by myself and listened to the crickets play a song. I checked my watch, 11:40.
I should be going to the main building. My heart pounded and my knees suddenly felt like they could give out.
I needed to be brave.
•
I found the main building and walked inside, surprised they kept the doors open 24/7. I walked in slowly and checked my watch again 11:55. I was going to be right on time. And knowing Elio he would be early.
My stomach felt like it dropped a little with every step. And by the time I was at the fifth floor it was at my feet. I suddenly felt the urge to puke my guts out. Get a hold of yourself Oliver.
•
I dragged my feet until I saw the bench from earlier today, then the crack in the tile, and lastly, the large opening to the balcony. I was here, was he here?
I peaked around the door and saw a figure looking up into the sky.
Elio.
I felt tears prick at my eyes but I wasn't going to give in. Even in the small amount of moon light I could tell he was just as beautiful as when I left him.
He was wearing loose fitting jeans and a black jacket that fit him loosely. He still appeared to be shorter than me
He sighed.
That sigh almost made me fall. That sigh made my knees so weak I almost feel. Imagine what's going to happen when he actually speaks to me.
I didn't know how to approach him.
"Hey," no that will seem like I don't care enough.
"Long time no see" it's been ten years since you've seen the love of your life and that's what your going to say to him? I don't think so!
"Elio."
it just peeped out of me. I meant to keep going around in circles about what I was going to say, but it seemed my subconscious had other plans.
He whipped around, it seemed like it was slow motions his brown curls were perfectly cut and his face had not changed what so ever. He looked beautiful, like a sculpture waiting to be photographed and put on display.
"Oliver" his voice was weak.

Muahahaha
Lmao cliff hanger, bitch!
But anywho, Even though this chapter mainly focuses on Elio and Oliver, I also wanted to get some of that Ella action in.
I wanted her to have for structure, ya know? We don't really know much about her but now y'all do! (Even though it's not really much)
Next I need to do the same to Olivia. I honestly don't know what her story is, but I'll figure it out as we go along
I need to go to sleep lol but I'll probably update tomorrow
Xoxo
