Please note: This is a re-upload of this chapter, the earlier version was incomplete – wattpad has been a real pain in the you-know-what recently; this was the second time this week alone that it didn't save and publish a finished chapter but rather reverted back to an earlier version of the draft (and I had to write quite a good bit of the chapter again 😖 !). I usually write my stories in Word, and whenever I do it directly in the app, I pretty much always regret it ☹️.
Thanks to everyone who participated in my poll 😊; the most popular options were the update for Ninja vs Samurai, the PIXane Wedding (in the Jaya Wedding/Next Gen storyline), and the Kailor Lemon (a second part to Reunion), so I'm going to work on those next.
And the OTP Challenge has put me in some serious PIXane mood so I'm also gonna do the movieverse one shot for them, just because I want to 😉.
But first, here's a little sneak peak to my 🎃 2018 Halloween Special 👻 ; it's still very much at the draft stage and feedback is highly appreciated.
It's an AU Jaya story called 'Out of Time'. I expect the final story to have around 6-7 chapters, so it will be a separate book, to be published sometime between early and mid October (to make sure I'll finish it in time for Halloween).

Chapter 1 - 2015
"Excuse me, Miss." I heard a voice call out to me. "Would you happen to know which way leads back to Ignacia?"
I looked around in surprise - I had not expected anyone else to be up here - and, through the eerie mist, I could make out something, or rather someone, approaching me.
Just like every year on the Day of the Departed, I had climbed Haunted Hill, a small elevation just outside of Ignacia, to light a lantern in honour of our parents.
Not many other people liked coming up here, as the name suggests it was generally considered to be a cursed place.
Yet, it was my favourite place in all of Ignacia, with a lovely view over the town and the ruins of the old palace (well, not on this day for it was a bit foggy). And it held some precious memories.
When we had been younger, each year our father had taken us, my brother and I, up here on this very eve, to remember the dead and appreciate the living. Kai had stopped coming come up here after our parents had been killed in a car crash two years ago, not wanting to be reminded of what we had lost. He didn't even know that I still did it, he probably would not have approved of me being up here alone, especially as it was already getting dark.
Well, as it turned out, I was not completely on my own.
"Good evening." A boy - or maybe a young man, it was not that easy to tell - was slowly walking towards me.
"I was so glad when I saw the light of your lantern." He beamed at me. "I-I always come up here to watch the Day of the Departed festival but there isn't much of a view tonight. And I must have somehow lost my way, because I couldn't even see a single light from the town or the palace, and I was really worried I'd be forces to stay up here over night and..."
As he kept talking and talking, I finally got to take a closer look at him. He looked to be about the same age as myself, only slightly taller and rather skinny. He had messy auburn hair and a rather cute face with lots of freckles. But his most distinctive feature was a pair of piercing deep blue eyes.
And while I was in my regular clothes - a pair of skinny black trousers and a sea blue parka hiding my favourite red tunic - he was obviously dressed up for the Day of the Departed celebrations, wearing some kind of medieval costume - a loose fitting off-white shirt with a pair of light brown trousers and brown leather boots.
