The time flew by. First we were three weeks in, now we're in the hospital. We were in a room while we were waiting for her to go into labor. She was having a lot of pain in her stomach. I sat next to her as her back faced me. She was staring at the wall. I placed my hand on her shoulder and she turned to look at me.
"Envy, I'm scared."
"I know you are," I said as I took my hand and intertwined it with hers. I caressed the top of her hand with my thumb.
"I'm in a lot of pain."
"I know. I'm here."
She sighed and laid back on the bed. She looked up at the ceiling and then at me.
"What should we name her?" she asked.
"I don't know."
"Who is an important person in your life?"
"You are," I said.
"We can't name her after me."
"Sure we can," I smiled.
"Envy, other than me, who was the most important person in your life?"
I sighed and remembered when I took my first steps in Amestris. It was a rainy day and all of the people who looked at me were wondering why I was there. They didn't know who I was or even what I was during that time. But there was that one person who gave me everything. She was the light of my life before I met Y/N, Ed, Roy, and all of the other friends I have come to known. I smiled to myself and turned to Y/N.
"There was this one woman who found me when I first entered this world. She took care of me. She was like my mother you could say. She made sure I was alright when I was hurt, warm when I was cold. She was such a nice person. But when I went out to seek who I was, I returned to her to see she had been killed by the same people who are like me."
"What was her name?"
"Rebecca. I called her Becca for short."
"Rebecca. I like that name, Envy."
I smiled and kissed the top of her head, "Other than you, she was the most important person in my life." I placed my other hand on her stomach, "Now, I can have the two most important people in my life."
She smiled and her face scrunched up in pain. She groaned as pain ran up and down her midsection.
"Are you alright?"
"Get the doctors. I think she's coming."
I kissed her head and ran out of the room to see two doctors standing around.
"Hey, can you come in here?"
One of them came in and called in the second. He talked to him for a moment and afterwards some nurses ran in with a tray of medical equipment. The doctors prepared as I sat next to Y/N. I wiped a few beads of sweat off her forehead and held her hand.
"It hurts, Envy."
"I know. It's alright. It'll be alright."
A couple hours had passed and Rebecca was brought into the world like any other baby. Crying. Wanting the comfort of her mother. After she was wiped down, the doctors placed her on Y/N's chest. Y/N, with tears of joy coming from her eyes, happily hugged her daughter. I smiled as I sat by her. I wiped a few tears out of my eyes. The doctor swaddled her up and handed her back to Y/N. They left afterwards.
"Do you want to hold her, Envy?" I grew a bit nervous, but nodded my head. She handed her over and I took her from Y/N. "Make sure you support her head."
