I woke up and saw Y/N was sitting on a chair across from the couch. I slowly got up and looked at her.

"Is everything alright, Y/N?" I asked.

"What happened yesterday morning?" she asked.

"What?"

"What happened yesterday morning?"

"Are you talking about my hand?" I asked.

"Yes."

"Axel bit me," I said. "Simple as that."

She nodded, "What happened last night?"

"I guess you could say I was being a crazy person and talked to him about how I felt. He understands me and I understand him." He walked over and licked the same hand he bit and nudged it with his snout. I rubbed his head and smiled down at him, "He really is a great dog." I got up and walked towards the door.

"Where the hell are you going now?" she asked.

"I'm going for a walk," I said.

I opened the door and walked outside. I sighed and walked towards the woods that was behind her house. I walked and then sat down underneath a tree. All of the leaves looked pretty. Fall was coming closer and closer. I took a deep breath and I could smell the difference in the air. I smiled to myself and looked into the sky.

"I wonder how you're doing up there, Y/N. I hope you're taking care of yourself." A tear slipped down my cheek, "And our son. I wonder if you're with Becca as well as Roy, Riza, Ed, Al, and Maes." I wiped away the tear and heard a stick snap. I got up and searched my surroundings.

"Who's there? Show yourself!"

Coming from a tree from my left was Y/N. I sighed and walked towards her, "Why did you follow me?"

"I just wanted to make sure you would be ok."

"Y/N, I am a homunculus. I think I would be fine."

"I know, but I just worry about you."

I chuckled to myself, "I should be saying that."

"What?"

"Nothing," I said.

She nodded slightly and looked at the sky, "Who were you talking to?"

"A couple of friends I lost when they passed."

"I've heard of the two people you mentioned. Ed and Al."

"Yep. Edward and Alphonse Elric. They were the ones to perform human transmutation. Al lost his body while Ed lost his left leg. He gave up his right arm to bind his brother's soul to a suit of armor. And Ed eventually got his brother's body back. But unfortunately he still had his automail leg after what happened."

"I did hear about them. Everyone was talking about them when I was growing up."

"I used to be friends with them."

"You did?"

"Yep. I would go visit them with my girlfriend back in the day," I sadly smiled.

"Envy?"

"Yes?"

"Do you miss her?"

"I do. But you're the only person to be like her. I still can't wrap my head around you being her incarnation. It just doesn't make any sense."

"It doesn't have to make sense, Envy. All that matters is that I'm here with you now. And I won't be going anywhere any time soon," she smiled.

It was the same smile I remember. I sadly smiled to myself and turned my back on her.

"I know that. But I would at least want to get the idea of you finally being able to be with me. To know that one day, when I wake up, you'll still be there," I said. I remembered the first week when she died. I was alone once more. And during that time, I would be alone forever. It would be silent when I walked around the apartment. I would go visit Roy and Riza and their daughter. Thinking that if only she considered adoption, she could be here with me if I managed to get a philosopher's stone. But she had to be stubborn. I walked out of the woods and back towards the house. I came in and Axel greeted me. I rubbed his head and walked over to the couch and sat down. He came over and rested his head on my lap. I smiled as I rested my hand on his head.

"Envy."

"What?" I asked, getting slightly annoyed.

"You know, you can always sleep in the spare room I have."

I got up and walked up the stairs and saw three doors. One was Y/N's room, a bathroom, and then the guest room. I walked into the guest room and sat down on the bed. It reminded me of the time when I moved in with her at our apartment. I looked out the window and saw a few birds fly by.

That night, at dinner, Y/N and I were sitting at the table eating. We were eating in silence. I was thinking about my new life here. That maybe I could start something with her. I smiled to myself as I thought of possibly having a family with her. I want nothing more than to have a small family of my own. To be a father because I never had one. And to be able to care for them like how Becca did for me.

"You're smiling over there," she said.

I shook my head slightly and looked up at her, "What?"

"You're smiling. Either you're thinking of something evil and villainous, or you're thinking of something happy. Something about her."

"I can't stop thinking about her. I will never stop thinking about her. She was my one and only. But she's gone."

"I'm right here, Envy."

"You're not the person I met two-hundred and fifteen years ago! And besides, you would never want to be with me. I will out live you and all of the incarnations she had! You are unable to live with me for all eternity!" I sighed. "And you never will."

"Envy, stop thinking of the past. Start thinking about the present," she said.

"How can I?"

"Well, you need to accept the fact that I am the one you loved that long ago."

I got up and put my plate away. I came back over and stared right at her, "Let's get one thing straight. The person I met back then is different. You may be her incarnation, but that doesn't mean I will have the same feelings towards you. You will never be the person I loved when she was alive. So stop telling me that I can love you just because you're her incarnation." I walked up stairs and towards the guest room. I sat down on the bed and looked up at the ceiling. I sighed and fell down on the bed and fell asleep.
