POV: Annabeth
In my dorm there's a window across from my bed, I sleep in the attic alone, its not like a regular attic it's like my very own miniature house. The other Athena kids get pretty annoyed by it but I think it's safe to say I've deserved it. I'm the Head of the dorm which basically means I take credit for everyone else's mistakes, but I don't mind as long as I keep the Attic. It's almost time for dinner in The Big Room, when my room phone rings.
"Hey Anna, you wanna meet up before The Big Room? I really need to escape my siblings." Piper sounded annoyed and so exhausted at the same time.
"Sure. Court Yard?" I say
"Deal." Her voice suddenly changed and she was so happy.
I close my laptop, and grab my backpack... you never know when you're going to need it. Then walk down the stairs to the front door of our dorm.. Then I walked to The Court Yard.
There Piper was sitting alone on the stone bench.
"Hey Pipes, what's wrong?"
She looked up with the saddest look on her face. "You're going to hate me." She says shaking her head.
"Oh my gods! What did you do? You know I could never hate you." I say trying to comfort her.
"Well, I lied..." She said while crinkling her nose.
"About what? You're scaring me." Now she's got me sort of worried.
"Truth is.... nothing is wrong I just wanted you to not be late for dinner just once this year!" She says dying of laughter.
"So not funny..." I couldn't help but laugh too. "Come on, silly."
The rest of the way was silent. I could tell something was wrong, she was a good lair being the child of Aphrodite and all. Damn charm speaking! But I will find out what's wrong, they don't call me Wise Girl for nothing.
"Tell me." I demand.
She looked confused. "Tell you what?"
"Whatever it is you're keeping from me."
Piper brushes her hair behind her ear. "Really? I thought we talked about this, I lied. I lied to get you here faster."
"I know you better than that!" She can tell by my voice I'm a little angry and frustrated.
"Fine. You know how..."
"Hey guys, what's up?" Rachel Dare comes barging up out of no where ruining whatever it is Piper was about to tell me.
"Haha saved by the bell, or the red head in this case!" Piper said laughing at her self while Rachel and I just stood there quietly.
"Okay... Not that funny?" No one replied. "Yeah I didn't think so either..." Piper said in disappointment, as she looks down at her shoes.
"Am I ruining a moment here?" Rachel asks with sarrow.
"No." Piper added.
"Yes." I added at the same time, then Piper and I just stare at eachother.
Rachel must have got the feeling she wasn't wanted, because she said her goodbyes. Rachel and I have had our differences in the past about stupid things, we've never gotten along until recently when she became friends with Piper. Rachel has only been here about two months, but it seems like forever. She thinks she deserves some kind of special treament, well she doesn't... she isn't even a demigod.
"Okay Piper, continue." I said as if Rachel was never here.
"Fine... You know how sometimes I dream crazy dreams, that sometimes not all the time, but most the time come... true?"
"Yes. Where are you going with this?" I said sounding confused.
"I had a dream that a boy was going to arrive here, not just a boy... the boy. I don't know much about him or the dream, but it gave me a bad feeling." she said looking off into space tearing up. She was frightened, I could tell.
I placed my hand on her shoulder. "Don't worry Pipes, it was just a dream. And I don't mean to go all Nelly on you, but I bet it's nothing."
