Chapter 3

POV: Thalia

I lay in bed awake, I have a hard time sleeping in the mornings now that I am alone. It sucks not having siblings! Why Zeus, why didn't you sleep around like your brothers and sisters? "BOOM BOOM" thunder echoed in my dorm along with a flash of light, I'm assuming it was lightning.

"Fine! Someone woke up on the wrong side of the bed..." the last part I mumbled as I got up out of my own bed.

I got here about a month ago, before I got here I was basically homeless. With being in and out of foster homes, if you could even consider that a home. Then Mandy my protecter, who didn't decide to protect me until I was being chased by a giant snake... Zeus would only have the best for his one and only child.

"Right, dad?" I look up but nothing happened.

Suddenly the bell rings, school time! "Yay!" I think to myself sarcastically. I walk to my locker, because for some strange reason we're not allowed to keep our books in our dorms... They're literally fifty feet away, and we're only allowed back to our dorms after the last bell has rung.

My 1st period is always my favorite, I have Mr. Eros, son of Aphrodite. He is the Greek God of sexual desire and attraction. I'm not the flirty, always worried about my make-up, always fixing my hair and polishing my finger nails type... I'm just not that kind of girl. I wear black, maybe too much black, but I don't care. I hardly ever wear make-up and when I do people laugh, they make fun of my hair because I have a blue stripe in my bangs. But something about this class draws me in, even though it shouldn't. I'm not some creep, but Mr. Eros just makes it interesting and easy to understand.

Finally this school day is over!

POV: Percy

"Honey, you're going to be safe here." My mother says looking towards the High School.

"Mom, you know I've never been good at this... the whole new thing. I hate it, not knowing anyone... and you, when will I see you again?" I say holding back my tears.

"I'll see you soon, I promise. Now go, do what you were put on this earth for. I love you. Please be careful Percy." She said, but she didn't hold back any tears, she's sobbing. She nodded to Justin, letting him know it was time for me to... basically leave the life I had. One last look back at my mom she was still crying, I turned back around because I couldn't bare to see her hurt.

"This is it." Justin said like he'd been waiting forever to say that.

I looked up and saw a High School, it looked more like a three-story College than a High School

I take a deep breath. "So what now?"

"We bring you to Chiron." Justin says.

"Am I supposed to know who that is?" I say with sarcasm.

"Haha you'll find out." He smirked.

I felt something as I walked up the first step, it felt like.. I belonged here, but in a scary way.

"Will you go to school here too?" I asked Justin.

"Umm not exactly. I'm a satyr. Oh I almost forgot!" He said unbuttoning his pants.

"Whoa! Justin you can't just take your pants off in public, especially anywhere near a school!"

"Chill Percy I'm a satyr, I'm half goat." he says as he drops his pants.

I stand confused. This is all so weird. "Is everyone a goat?" I ask.

"Nope, Most are demigods like you. I'm a satyr/protector.. Let's get you to Chiron he'll explain everything that your mom and I haven't already explained."

We walked down a narrow and silent hallway, no one was in the school, so it must have been over, I haven't been keeping track of time, but I'm pretty sure if it is over it just ended.

"Here we are!" Justin says as we stand in front of a door with the number '107' on it in black numbers on a fogged glass window, just like a normal school would have.. But I know this isn't a normal school.

I turn and look at Justin "What now?" I say sounding a bit terrified of what's gonna happen next and who 'Chiron' is.

"Don't worry, Chiron will tell you everything you need to know Percy." Justin says.
