Bucky had been making breakfast when he heard the side door open. Steve walked in, grinning that same boyish grin he had always had. He came over and sat at the table, stretching his long legs out.
"How have things been Buck?" He asked, running his hand through his hair.
"Same as usual, for the most part. Just keeping up on services." He replied, turning to look at as his childhood friend. "Staying for breakfast?"
"If that's okay. Trying to avoid the woman I brought home last night." Steve smirked, speaking in a whisper. Bucky rolled his eyes, going back to the fridge.
"Have you ever thought of settling down?" He asked, cracking open another egg.
"Heck no, a lot more fun this way, plus I'm not the type to settle down for too long. You know that." Steve stated, leaning back his seat, placing his hands behind his head. "Haven't met a girl that can keep up with me yet, anyway."
"As your priest I should remind you that.."
"I know I know twenty Hail Marys, but still, I like the women, Bucky." He responded playfully, earning a chuckle from his friend. "I don't know how you do it man, seein beautiful women, and resisting them."
Bucky thought back to his dream of Sparrow, he shook his head trying to push the memory back down. He hadn't been able to go back to sleep after that, afraid and hoping it would come back.
"Saint James, the patron saint of resisting the alluring trait of the fairer sex." Steve joked. "Some days I wonder if you went blind when you hit your head."
"You think I'm saint." Bucky scoffed slightly as he continued to scramble eggs and flip pancakes.
"I mean, you don't even so much as look at gorgeous woman, it's like you're immune to them or something."
"That's good news for you then, means more for you." Bucky smirked to himself.
"Very true." Steve nodded in agreement. "Though you make itseem like if you were in the playing field I wouldn't stand a chance."
Bucky turned slightly, smirking over to his friend.
"I know, I know, you were the ladies man in high school but in my defense I was skinny." Steve shot back.

I woke to find a note on the dresser and clean clothes. I went to take a shower as the note had asked, the shirt was overly large and almost hit my knees. The pants he had provided were dark blue and rough and I didn't like them. So I left them in the bathroom, intent on finding him so I could ask for different pair.
I listened carefully as I walked down the halls, the wood floor cool to my bare feet. I could hear laughter coming from the kitchen. One of them was Father Barnes, the other I didn't recognize. It smelled like something was burning, it was familiar but I couldn't place where.
As I turned the corner in the kitchen, I saw that the priest was at the stove. His company, a rather large muscular man with blonde locks looked over to me. His eyes slowly lowered from my face, traveling down my body before slowly making their way back up to my face. He had been leaning back in his chair and it made a thump as he sat up straight before standing.
"Well hello, beautiful." His deep blues bore into me. "Bucky, my man, you didn't tell me about this gorgeous creature."
Father Barnes turned toward where I stood as the other man walked around behind me, hair stood on the back of my neck as I tried to keep him in my line of sight.
"Sparrow." Father Barnes sighed, placing his hand on the center of his face, dragging it down ward. "Pants, you have to wear them."
"The ones you gave me, I don't like them." I replied slowly as the blonde came back to my front. I didn't know this man, and I didn't like him already. The way he looked at me, it was predatory.
"Please tell me you at least have undergarments on." Father Barnes asked Exasperated. I looked over to him, I wasn't sure what he meant by that, and from the redding of his face I think could tell I didn't understand. "Sparrow."
"So your name is Sparrow?" The man before me said, I took a step to the side away from him, crossing my arms in front of my chest.
"Yes, this is Sparrow. And this is my childhood friend I told you about, Steve. Please forgive him, he's a bit of jerk sometimes." Father Barnes explained as I neared him, keeping the other man still in sight. He seemed harmless, but there was a feeling about him I couldn't ignore.
"Jerk." The other man scoffed walking back to the chair he had been sitting in, his eyes still on me.
"Yes, especially with the ladies." Father Barnes smiled, looking down at me. There was a glint if playfulness in his eyes, bringing a smile to my own face. I tucked a loose strand of my hair back out of the way.
"I've never heard a woman complain yet." Steve boasted, I leaned over the food Father Barnes was cooking and took a deep inhale. Fresh eggs, pepper, onion, I could smelled the pancakes that were cooked to perfection. My stomach rumbled, and my mouth began to water.
"Smells wonderful, Father Barnes." I told him, looking back up.
"Thank you, why don't you go take a seat, I'm almost done." He told me, I realized I liked his smile, it was warm and inviting.
Slowly I crossed back over toward the table where Steve was currently sitting, tracking my every movement. The closer to him I got, the stronger the smell of burning became. I stared at the table and I sat down trying to think of logical explanation, other then the one burning into the back of my mind.
"Such a pretty little bird." Steve whispered leaning over to me, the hint of decay rolled from him making my heart pound in my chest. I raised my eye to the priest whose back was currently turned to us. "He has no idea what he has."
Slowly I allowed my eyes to slide back over to Steve, and as he turned his head I saw it. The demon possessing him, it's smooth fully shaped charred skull, wickedly long teeth, eyes glowing red. It's head turned only a second later then the human it was currently residing in.
"And breakfast is ready." Father Barnes announced setting the food on the table.
