Seraphina's POV

Here I was again, opening my eyes to a darkness I knew so well.

I was back here for a reason, but why?

I rose to my feet as the water rippled around me. I looked out into the black abyss, prepared to find my reason for being pulled back to the in-between, but there was nothing.

Not a sound, not a light, just me alone in my dark void.

Something was off.

This was unlike anything I've seen before. And I know I will be stuck here until I find my purpose.

Wait a sec-

That was when I realized that maybe it was my turn to reach out, maybe it was my turn to search for someone. Maybe that was my goal, not to be found, but to find for myself.

After all, this is my mind space.

I closed my eyes and felt for the one closest to my heart, the one I wanted to see again more than anything in this world.

The only one who completed me.

"Beckett..." I whispered to myself.

I reminisced on all of the memories we had together as the longing for my other half intensified.

There was no one in this world that knew me better than he did.

I needed him.

I needed to see his face again.

I needed to hear his voice.

I needed to find him.

When I opened my eyes, it was there, the same transparent doorway that I saw the first time I heard him.

And there he was, standing in his room with his back to me again.

"Beckett," I said as my face lit up with excitement.

But this time he wasn't alone.

There was another man in the room with dark, chestnut hair and tan skin. Oddly enough I found this man undeniably handsome. I leaned in closer to get a better look at the situation. They seemed to be in a pretty intense conversation.

I got as close to the doorway as I could, but when I placed my hand against the watery surface, it stopped.

It didn't sink through this time as it had done before. My eyes widened in a small alarm while my heart skipped a beat.

"Beckett!" I called out to him, seeing if he could hear me.

But I got nothing in return.

Instead, when my hand came in contact with it, I was only able to hear what they were saying.

"Look, Beckett," the dark-haired man began, placing a hand on my brother's shoulder.

"I understand that you miss her, but are you listening to yourself? The things you're saying doesn't only sound crazy, but they're impossible..." he breathed out.

Beckett shrugged off his hand and shook his head.

"I know what I saw. Seraphina was here. I was talking to her, Greyson.

"She broke that damn picture frame!" My brother said exasperatedly.

The man named Greyson pinched the bridge of his nose and took a deep breath before picking up an old map that was laying on Beckett's desk.

"If what you're saying actually happened, if she is actually at Mad'ouk, then that means that she ended up on the other side of the country after the attack on your home.
