Finally updated! This gets a bit heck tic, but it's okay.

Annika's POV

I waited patently out the front of the school for river, and as I caught a glimpse of him, my stomach filled with butterflies.

"Annika" he yelled to me over the crowd, rushing to get away from the prison.

"Hey, river" I yelled back

He grabbed my hand and we got out of the stampede, of other students.

"You, ready" he asked.

"Yeah" I answered

We walked to his car in the parking lot, still holding hands! We then got into his expensive blue mustang. We let go to get to our designated seats.

We drove in silence for the whole time, it was unbearable so my stupid mouth opened.

"Do we have to get married?" I asked, and regretted it straight away.

But he just laughed he didn't even bother to answer. I felt so stupid.

We pulled up to the little restraint.

And sat down at a small table, I picked up one of the menus and even though it's 3:30 I decided on pancakes.

A girl about our age came to the table, in her uniform and a pad with a pen.

"Hey, so uh what would you like" she asked in a flirtatious voice, as if she was unaware of my presents.

"Just a burger, please" he replied, thankfully ignoring how she was acting around him.

" and uh, what do you want?" She snobbed at me rudely.

"Pancakes, please" I tried to be polite, although I would much rather pull her hair out.

"I'll be back with your orders" she winked at river, again ignoring that I'm right here. And then she left.

"So uhm I'm going to regret asking this but, is this like a date?" I asked, not sure wether I should have.

"Yeah, if you want it to be!" He laughed

"Sorry, it's just, I have never been on one" I stated as my cheeks burned up in embarrassment.

"Neither" he gave a slight smile.

"What! Girls are always eyeing you up and down, the waitress was flirting with you right in front if you, girls must chase you, and you've never had a date?" I told him shocked, he has to be lying.

"I've been waiting for you, hey how about, we just play this as 'friends' and then well have our first, first date somewhere special" he smiled

"Okay", I'm really getting to like river, he just makes me melt.

"So any more questions?" He smirked a little.

"Can you answer the question from in the car?" I asked giving him the same smirk back.

"Well, we don't have to" he mumbled, does that mean he wants to? No guys don't like me so why would he?

The waitress came back, with our food and some cheesy pick up lines for river!

"Did it hurt when you fell from heaven?" She giggled at river.

"No, but I scrapped my knees crawling from hell" he smirked, I was quite shocked at that.
