Appearance: dirty blonde, white skin, green eyes, skinny, overall a beautiful girl

Age: 17

Personality: shy until you get to know her, smart, would rather read a book than watch a movie.

Annika's POV

It's was my birthday, I turned 17. I didn't want to throw a party or invite my best friend over (Abbey) because I wanted to have a quite birthday. My parents are always working away for weeks at a time, so I've grown to being alone, although I get lonely a lot, for some reason I felt that I needed to be alone for that night.

I'd just got back from a day of school, When I walked through the door, I found a letter that had been put through the letter slot.

It read:

Dear Annika

HAPPY BIRTHDAY

I'm sorry to say that your dad and I can't be there for your birthday. I put a cake in the pantry for you and your presents under my bed. Once your dad and I come back we have some thing to tell you. We should be back in the morning.

Love mum and dad

I'm use to this happening they haven't been here for my birthday since I was 12! Once they missed Christmas and they have missed Easter several times. Your probably wondering what they do well I don't know they never told me, every time I ask they simply just change the subject.

I went in the pantry to find that the cake hadn't even been made, it was in a box. So I put all the ingredients in and put it in the oven. It was just a simple chocolate cake.

While I waited for the cake to cook I went into my mum and dads room to get the present.

I took it in to the lounge room to open it. It was the new book 'the fault in our stars' I've been looking for it every where! So I started to read it.

BEEP, BEEP, BEEP

The timer went off for the cake. So I slipped into the kitchen to get out the cake, yum, I could smell the chocolate, it was so strong and heavenly. Once I took a spoonful into my mouth, it melted on my tongue. Because I had eaten so much cake, I didn't bother to make or have dinner.

As I got tired, I went up stairs to read on my balcony. I watched the sunset over the ocean, it gave the water a pinky, purple colour.

My skin burned as if I needed the light to survive, I could see thick, gray hair growing through my skin all over my burning body. I was growing a snout and my ears grew and My back snapped down!
