No one's POV:
That night you didn't get any sleep. No matter how many times you turned and shut your eyes again, the sleep didn't come to let you drift away from consciousness. Instead of that, you ended up laying on the uncomfortable mattress, hugging yourself to keep your body warm. You sighed, shutting your eyes and desperately tried to fall asleep once again.
Exhale.
Inhale.
Exhale.
The only sound in the still and cold tent was the sound of your breathing, your chest raising and falling down with every breath you took. You could feel the cold bitter air biting your cheeks, turning them red, and how it was starting to creep under your clothes like cold fingers freezing with every touch they took. You grunted in frustration, running a hand through your hair. Oh, you would be so tired on the morning. You hoped the others would save some coffee for you too, you would basically live with it for the next day. You had no idea what time it was but taking in notice the darkness and the fact that pretty much everyone was asleep already, you could guess it was about 1am or something like that. You sighed and bit your lip, wondering if a walk and some fresh air would help you to sleep, but on the other hand you weren't really tempted to leave your safe nest. Who knew what was in that forest?
You looked at your side, noticing Hungary and Austria deep in sleep, Hungary hugging her frying pan like it was her last string to life. Austria was from time to time sighing and mumbling something under his breath. He was sleeping in a fetal position, and a faint smile made a way on your lips as you looked at the two. They were honestly adorable, and you cursed under your breath that you couldn't take a picture of the two, since it was so dark. Maybe it was for the best though, Hungary would have killed you if you had taken that photo. At that moment, your gaze still lingering upon the two countries, you made up your mind and struggling, you sat up, staring to stumble out of the tent. A thought had crossed your mind. You wanted to see the stars.
You had heard that the stars in Canada were often really pretty and covered the whole black sky visibly like a white paint almost as if resembling hope. You had always wanted to go stargazing in a place like that, after all, so you couldn't miss this chance. Of course, the stars could be seen from your country too, but it was always a different experience. And you loved staring at the empty void of mysteries and unknown, memorizing old memories and feeling so small in the middle of the universe. Life was different kind of beautiful then. When the sun took away its light, disappearing beneath the horizon, it was time of darkness. It was almost magical, everyone sleeping, being the only one awake in the world closest to unknown, and as you stepped out of the tent, you prayed that the stars would be visible tonight.
A wide grin made its way on your face as you noticed the white lights splattered around the black sky that was like a blanket hovering upon the world. The day had ended, and it was time for the world to change. An owl could be heard from far away, and you stepped on the moist grass. You felt the urge to remove your boots and feel the slices of grass tickling your feet, and the ground and dirt under your feet, but you shook your head at the thought. You didn't want to get sick. You continued walking, eyes focused on the sky above and arms on your sides as if you were from a fairy tale. From far, you seemed like a fairy, the only thing lacking was the wings. You smiled, continuing to walk, as you hand ran on the surface of a giant rock you were passing by. You turned to look away from the sky for a moment, gazing at the rock, making up your mind, and hopping on it.
You let out a muffled chuckle, as you sat on the rock, swinging your legs as you carefully went to lay down. The rock's surface was cold and hard, making you feel uncomfortable at some parts of your body, but you were too focused on the sky to take a notice. Your arm was under your head, and your eyes studied the scenery. There was a beautiful line of stars, filling the firmament. You raised your another arm, as if trying to grab the jars in a jar, so you could always keep them with you and maybe someday become one. You wondered when you would become part of them. To become a star, you need to act like one, until you are bluffing yourself as well, right?
