Joseph
I walk into the school and am immediately greeted by the loud buzz of all the students. I don't really like the noise, so I normally just go to the library where it's alot quieter. I push my headphones into my ears and play my music to block out some of the noise while I make my way over to the library. I sigh to myself softly and open the door, stepping in.
"Hello Joseph." The librarian says with a smile. She and I have gotten acquainted over the last year or so because I would just come in and help her organise books or something like that.
"Hi Mrs. Davis." I say quietly with a soft smile. I give a small wave as I greet her, then walk off to where I normally sit. It's a secluded spot in the back where the bookshelves kinda form a small room, where three of the walls would be bookshelves. I dunno why I like his spot so much, it just kinda feels cozy. I waste time until my first class starts by losing myself in a book about surviving some kind of virus that only affects adults, but the teens can carry it. It's a pretty interesting book.
-----------Eventually, the time comes to put the book down and head to class. I mark my page and set it in my bag, then get up and walk to the exit of the library.
"Bye Mrs. Davis, I've got class now," I say and wave at her as I exit. I make my way through the halls and out to the physics department.
I really want a degree in astrophysics but that requires a lot of different kinds of math, and unfortunately, I seem to struggle with most. I sigh to myself again, then enter the building, making my way to the class. I greet the professor, then make my way to the very back of the room, on the far left side. I get kinda antsy when people sit behind me, so that's why I sit in the back, not that I'm a bad person.
People slowly start filling the room, most of the seats being taken up. The professor brings promptly once the clock hit nine. He drones on about the course and what we can expect and stuff like that. He seems like the boring kind of professor, the one who could put you to sleep by boredom.
My observation turns out to be true as I watch a few people already falling asleep. I take my laptop out of my bag and type a few things down that I think I should remember, but I really just end up watching YouTube or playing games on it. The first day of anything is usually just really boring introductions and whatnot.
-----------The day takes forever to finally be over. It felt more like three days rather than one. Once my last class lets out, I text my father to come pick up from the school.
"Omw." My phone dings, displaying his text. I push my headphones into my ears and turn up my music, waiting for him out by the front of the school. I sit in the steps, leaning against a pillar as I sing to myself in my mind and watch others move about.
Ten or so minutes later, my father arrives. I hoist myself up and shuffle over to his car, and get in. I pull out on earbud and lower the volume of my music.
"How was school?" He asks. Ugh, I know we ALL hate that question, right?
"Boring." I say bluntly, leaning my head on my hand, looking out the window. I felt down today, I dunno why. Probably the whole Omega situation again.
"Hey. You'll be alright, that special someone will be around soon." My father says, starting to drive us towards our house. Ugh, I hate it when he does that.
"I'd appreciate it if you could get out of my head." I say and roll my eyes, putting the earbud I took out, back in. I turn up the volume, and the rest of the ride home is silent.
-----------I get out of the car without waiting for my father to put it into park. I push through the front door, saying hi to my mom, then going off to my room.
I set my back down and turn the lights off, walking over to the window. I close the shutters, then climb into bed and wrap myself up in my comforter. I sigh softly and get cozy, browsing around on my phone.
After a few hours I end up getting bored, so I just plug my phone in to charge and turn on some music. It helps me to fall asleep, since I don't have anyone to fucking love. Sorry for my language, but it's really starting to get unbearable. I'm almost twenty for Christ's sake. What kind of person can't find a mate before twenty?
A few short minutes later of self loathing, and I'm lost to the wonderful world that is sleep.
-----------It's dark... and stormy... Where am I? I look around my surroundings, confused. Why am I my wolf? I continue to question, looking down and seeing I had paws rather than hands and feet.
I hear a twig snap, my ears perking up and my head quickly swivelling over to the direction of the sound. I lower my head and growl softly, warning off whoever or whatever has created the sound. I receive a growl back, and the sheer base of it makes me cower. It's another wolf. Black as night, but those eyes. God those eyes... They are a deep brown colour, staring directly into mine. I can tell it's an Alpha.
Right then, I wake from the dream, shooting up so fast that I get light headed. I rub my eyes quickly and flick on the lights, seeing nothing but my messy room. I stumble out and into the kitchen to get some water, I hadn't realised how dry my throat was. In the process of trying to get some water, I drop a glass and it breaks.
"Damn it..." I say to myself, getting another one and filling it with water. My parents peak around the corner, probably thinking they were getting robbed.
"Joseph? Are you okay?!" My mother squeaks at the broken glass, and my shivering body. My father grimaces and kneels down, picking up the glass.
"Y-Yeah, I was just really thirsty and I had a nightmare..." I say softly, setting my glass down. My mom hugs me tightly and I gratefully hug her back. "Tell me about it." She says.
"W-Well... I saw a wolf... an Alpha wolf, black as night... She had deep brown eyes as well." I start to describe what I saw. "I was in my wolf form as well... oh and we were in the woods." I recollect.
My father stands up as I speak, rubbing his chin with a worried look. "Honey.." my mother looks at me, holding my cheek.
"It sounds like... Well, it sounds like you saw your mate's wolf..."
