My classes were over for the day, but I stay at the school anyways to hang out with friends. I head to the library to wait for my friends. I smile and nod at the librarian, then head to an area where there are some chairs. On the way though, I catch a whiff of something sweet smelling. My nose twitches as my feet turn without my brain telling them to, following the faint scent. I follow it through the library to a spot that's got bookshelves on three different sides, like a little room. The scent is still faint, but a bit stronger in this spot. I huff softly, unable to get enough of it really, wanting more. Who could have made this scent?

Just then, my best friend turns the corner and spots me. "Uhhh.... Trin? You good?" She asks with a confused expression on her face.

"Do you smell anything sweet here?" I ask, tilting my head slightly. She sniffs the air, then shakes her head a bit.

"Nope, just you. And your Alpha stinks." She says with a grin, and I roll my eyes.

"Whatever. I can smell something sweet here... I'm really hoping it's what I think it is." I say softly, chewing my bottom lip gently.

"You think it's your..." Her voice trails off, while I nod. He squeals happily and rushes over to hug me, nearly knocking me over.

"Alright alright Ash, it just could be nothing. I don't even know if it was actually someone who made the scent or if it's some new cleaner yet. I guess we just have to wait and see if I have the dream." I say, squeezing her back. The dream is something you get when you smell your mate's scent for the first time or when they are in close proximity to you.

"Ughh alright! You better call me as soon as you do! I wanna meet him! Or her!" She grins wide, all giddy.

"Jeez alright!" I laugh and pick up my bag, which I had dropped in the commotion. "C'mon, lets go find the others." I say and start to walk towards the library door with Ash.

A few minutes later, we find the rest of our group and merge with them. Ash immediately breaks the news about me possibly finding my mate and the whole group 'awwes' at me. I roll my eyes and smile, letting them know it was still unconfirmed. We leave the school once everyone in our group gets here, then we head out to the mall. I give Ash a ride while the others take their own cars and what not. Ash doesn't shut up about the mate thing on the way there, but I don't really notice much. I'm too busy thinking about what that person would be like.

At the mall, we get some food and just hang out with each other, catching up on things that happened over the break. It was fun and all, but I really still couldn't get that scent out of my mind. Maybe it was my mate that produced the scent...

Eventually we get up from the food court and split ways, some people just going home, but I go to buy some new clothes. After I've got my clothes, I leave with Ash. We get in my car, and I floor it out of the parking lot, the engine easily heard from inside the car.

"Trinity, are you okay?" Ash asks, a bit concerned. She holds onto the side of the door. Oh yeah, I forgot she gets nervous when I drive fast.

"Huh? Oh yeah sorry, I forgot that that makes you nervous." I say slowing down to a more comfortable speed. "I'm just thinking about my possible mate. Like what if they aren't what I expected?" I think out loud.

"Well that's kinda selfish don't you think? Your mate is someone you're supposed to love, no matter their faults. That person needs you and you need them. Regardless of what you think." She says sternly.

I sigh softly and nod. "You're right... I'm probably just overthinking things." I say, keeping my eyes on the road.

I feel Ash squeeze my leg to reassure me. "It'll be alright Trinity. I promise. Once you have the dream, you'll be the happiest girl ever, and you'll make your mate twice as happy." I see her smile out the corner of my eye.

"Thanks Ash." I respond, pulling into her neighbourhood. I drop her off at her house, wave her goodbye, then speed off towards my house.

I get home after stopping to get some ice cream. What, it's a comfort food! Anyways, I finish it before getting home. Once I am home, I get out and lock my car, stepping inside. My parents weren't home very often, my father being an Alpha and my mother a Beta, they were usually away on business or vacation or whatever they did. I sigh to myself, the house pretty big, but really lonely.

I check my email to see if I already have any assignments to do, but it's empty. Thank god, I did not wanna deal with school right now. I rub my head gently, a headache on the verge of getting annoying. I climb the stairs to my room and change into some sweat pants and a simple T-shirt. I climb into bed and snuggle up under the covers, trying to will myself to fall asleep. I really wanted to see that dream...

Eventually sleep gets the best of me, and I pass out around midnight. Hopefully I won't be miserably tired the next day.
-----------

It's happening. The dream. The wind blows through the trees, rustling the leaves. I stalk through the forest, my fur blending me in well against the blackness of night. My ears and nose twitch at the smallest of noises and scents. Sooner rather than later, I pick up the scent of my mate. Male. Omega. Adorable....

I follow his trail, finally laying my eyes upon him. His wolf was amazingly cute. Most of his fur was white, with streaks and speckles of dark brown and a bronzish colour. He growls softly, probably afraid. I respond with a growl of my own, but a non-threatening one at that. He must've take it as a threat, because he bows his head in submission. I huff softly in frustration and walk towards him to show I mean no threat, but he vanishes.

Damn... he woke up... I howl in frustration, the dream ending as quickly as it started.

At least I finally found him....
