Margo's POV
How do you mourn over someone so much when you only knew them for four months? It's crazy how much happened in those four months. I met a guy kind enough to help me with my locker. That stranger in the hallways then became my best friend. Then four months later you were gone. No final goodbye, just gone. This whole thing would've been a lot harder if both of you didn't come home. I have one of you to help me get through the loss of the other. We all miss you Parker.
It's been over a year since that day. Everything's a little darker without your sunshine of a personality. I've tried to visit May as much as I could so she'd be there if we got you back. Ned visits her a lot too, we're looking after her for you Parker. Ned likes to think he could stay tough through it all, but I can tell he's broken. Not having his bet friend here for senior year was not what he imagined. Mj refuses to let anyone know hows she's doing, but then again that's Mj everyday.
As for dad, whatever happened took a lot out of him. Losing this battle didn't help his mentality. I've caught him down in the lab at random hours of the night more times than I can count. He won't really talk about you much, if you come up he just kind of zones out. I always knew he had a soft spot for you, he just never admitted it.
"Dad I need your help with something" I shout as I walk down stairs. When I get to the bottom of the stairs I look over and see my dads not alone. There's a bunch of people down here with them. I don't really recognize any of them except Bruce, the one who came with the wizard dude.
"I'm sorry, did the kid just call you dad Stark" One of the guys asks my dad.
"Yes Rodgers, I have a kid, I announced it like a year ago" Dad says weakly smiling at me as I walk past into the kitchen.
"I for one am not surprised Stark has a kid" The other blonde one says.
"What's that supposed to mean Thor" Dad says crossing his arms.
"It means you called yourself a genius billionaire playboy" The only other girl in the room says.
"Thanks for that Romanoff" Dad says rolling his eyes. Not even going to lie, it caused me to laugh a little bit, I think everyone laughed.
"Not that I don't enjoy a bunch of intimidating strangers in my house, but does someone wanna fill me in on whats happening. Maybe even who you all are" I ask sitting down at the table.
"I forget you haven't met everyone. Margo this is the team, team this is Margo" Dad says and when he says team I choke on my water. I finally was meeting the avengers and I hadn't even realized it, this is wild.
"Wait, are you joking? Wait if you're all in one room that means somethings going on. Whats going on" I ask looking over at my dad.
"You hadn't told anyone yet, had you Stark" One of them asks, I believe it was the one my dad called Rodgers.
"No I was trying not to get hopes up incase it didn't work" Dad eyeing Rodgers.
"Incase what doesn't work" I ask looking up at everyone standing in fronton me then back at my dad.
"Look If I tell you, you have to promise not to get you're hopes up. I can't deal with letting you down kid" Dad says looking back over at me. I put on my pinky and we pinky promise.
Tony's POV
"I'm sorry" Those are the last word the kid said to me. He never did anything wrong, he never did anything to be sorry for. Now I he's gone thinking he did something wrong. Truth be told was too pure for his own good. I should've protected him more, he shouldn't have been in space. This is all on me, and I have to undo everything.
I spent the past year trying to figure out how to get this kid back, even if it meant working with people I told myself I was done with. It was awkward at first being around Rodgers again. Luckily enough I hardly had to see him face to face. A lot of the face to face work was done with Bruce. It took us multiple days to brainstorm a plan to return half the universe. Not to mention figuring out where everyone went. Eventually we learned they had disappeared into a land within one of the infinity stones, the soul stone. That created the next problem, retrieving the soul stone again. When Thanos snap it was almost as if the stones had melted. It took us awhile until we could figure out how to get it back. As always one solution brought another problem, getting everyone out. Eventually we caught word of a way to build a portal that bring people out of that universe and back on earth. Figuring out that final piece of the puzzle, it felt like the first breath I had been able to take all year. We had a shot at getting everyone back.
"We may have found a way to bring to bring everyone back" I tell Margo. When I tell her this her face drops.
"Wait when you say everyone does that mean what I think it means" Margo asks and I nod my head. Her smile grows and she covers her mouth with her hand. So much for her not getting her hopes up, her hopes were up to the moon.
"Please let me come with you when you guys bring them back. I want to be there when he gets back" Margo asks looking at me with her Puppy dog eyes.
"No I cannot have you there Incase anything goes wrong" I say shaking my head at her. I stand up and turn away before she convinces me with her puppy dog stare. The kid he mastered it.
"No, No, No, you have to let me be there dad" She says standing up and walking in front of me.
"Come on Stark, if you say no the kid will probably just sneak her way over. At least this way you're prepared" Romanoff says causing me to roll my eyes at her comment.
"See, what she said! I like the way you think" Margo says pointing at Romanoff. I eye Romanoff and she just shrugs her shoulders.
"Look no matter who's coming or not, we need to leave soon" Rodgers says to me. I sigh and look over at Margo who's just staring at me waiting for me to cave.
"Okay fine, but if things go remotely south, you are out of there. You understand" I say eventually caving. Margo claps and hugs me saying thank you. I need to get better at not caving.
Once Margo's ready we head over to the abandoned warehouse where we had built the portal. When we get there Bruce, Rodgers and I start to set things up. I had Romanoff and Thor stand back with Margo so she was out of the way. It was interesting to watch my kid interacting with them. She asked them all about who they were and what they did. Someone how she even convince Romanoff to teach her some stuff after this was all over.
"Alright Tony, I think it's ready" Bruce says to me. I nod and we all moved aside so that people could come out. Eventually something started happening, I could feel a breeze as a hole started opening. I noticed Margo move up beside me so I put my hand on her shoulder. She laid her head on my hand but it shot back up when the first person came through, Rodgers friend Barnes. A few more people came through until it was Peters turn. I had turned away to watch everyone else but turned around when I felt Margo shaking my arm. There he was, Peter was back where he belonged.
