Chapter 4

Austin's perspective

I am scared of what is going through Crystal's mind right now. She wants revenge. I knew that. But in what way? I have no idea.

"We want to help you in every way we can." Lark says reaching up to place a hand on Crystal's shoulder.

Crystal pulls out her phone and calls someone.

"Hey... We need you to come down to the base... Yeah... I can tell you when you get here. It's not something that should be said over the phone... Yes that's right... No, we are fine, well, sort of... Okay, bye" Crystal says into her phone.

"Who was that?" Naomi asks

"Jeremy's sister. She's coming here. I need to call My brother too." Crystal said dialing another number. We decide to leave her to talk and go upstairs to the armory.

We get to the armory and Lark goes over to the wall of weapons. She grabs a bunch of arrows and puts them in her quiver.

I walk up behind lark and look at the arrow in her hand. It was a matte black one with shiny, pointy plastic feathers on the end. Near the end, it had her name in cursive gold lettering. It looked like her name was on fire.

I look over at Naomi who was looking over the different bullets and grabbing a few boxes of them. She loaded her handgun and rifle and kept looking. I decided it would be good to grab some more grenades. I look over the choices and pick some up. I attach them to my belt and go to Naomi.

"Hey!" She says turning to me.

"Hi!" I say hugging her. I imagine what would have happened if I hadn't been a trash cop. If I hadn't picked up the wrapper. I glance at lark over Naomi's shoulder. She was still looking at the arrows.

I hear a knock at the door and let go of Naomi. We go downstairs to the main floor. A man with the same blonde hair and gold eyes as Crystal. She hugs him and smiles at the girl. She had shoulder length dark brown hair and tan skin. She has the same caramel brown eyes that Jeremy had.

"This is my brother, Dallas and this is Jeremy's sister, Sasha." Crystal said to us gesturing to the man and woman. "And this is Lark, Naomi and Austin." Crystal said to Sasha and Dallas. "They are here to help us." Crystal said turning slightly angry. She wanted revenge. And she would get it.

Naomi's perspective

Crystal leads Dallas and Sasha to the living room to talk and leaves us in the hallway.

"I want to rescue my sister." Lark says looking out the small window by the door.

"Your sister?" I ask. I didn't know that Lark had a sister.

"Yeah. I think I mentioned her when you were passed out when I first met you guys." Lark said.

"Oh." I say twisting the bracelet around my wrist.

We hear soft crying coming from the family room where Dallas, Sasha and Crystal are. I guess they found out about Jeremy.

A few minutes later everyone comes out.

"We have to go rescue my sister!" Lark begs walking over to where Crystal came out with Dallas and Sasha.

Crystal gives a slight nod and leads everyone to the armory. She goes over to a whiteboard on wheels and flips it to the other side. She grabs a dry erase pen and looks at us.

"Alright. Pull up some chairs." Crystal says. I pull up a chair and sit next to Austin. "If we are going to get Lark's sister, we need a plan. Any ideas?" Crystal asks.
