i grabbed my lighter and let out the slightest of a chuckle. my gaze falling after my brown eyes met his green ones, i hesitated on speaking; unsure if i should just walk away without another word or simply strike up another conversation with the purple-haired boy. i soon looked back up at him, a smug smirk had been his expression. 

"thanks" i repeated and shoved my lighter in my pocket where it had belonged, he nodded and dropped his gaze; down to my slip-on shoes that were torn and you could see the slightest of my toe peeking out the front of the shoe.

"nice shoes" i glanced down as well as wiggled my toes. my shoes weren't much to like, i was unsure if he was sincere about his compliment or simply making fun. "let's fuck" he added with a giggle, i looked at him dumbfounded.

"w-what did you say?" i sputtered out, before becoming slightly irritated, did he think that low of me? i had obviously not understood the concept of a dumb pickup line. he obviously saw it in my face that i was not very happy about his statement.

"no it's a joke-- fuck sorry" michael spoke, i then replayed what he had said in my head; letting out a giggle which lead into a chuckle. I heard his own laugh joining mine, a strained one; but a smile. I readjusted my sunglasses and let out another chuckle, shaking my head at the slightest and pushing my wavy hair behind my ear.

"sorry, i-i haven't gotten a pick-up line, in uh, in forever" i replied, and he shrugged with another chuckle. 

"so last time, we talked.. you didn't tell me your name?" he broke the minute long silence. i paused debating wether or not i should tell him my name. i found myself zoning out pondering the possibility of gaining another friend in which i would be able to communicate with other then emily. 

"hello?" michael spoke breaking me out of my haze, his hand waving inches from my face.

"oh, sorry my name is victoria"
