my eyes peered up over the frame of my sunglasses. i whipped off my glasses and stared at him, nearly opened mouthed.

“what?”  my bottom lip slightly  twitched.  a strand of curly hair falling in front of my face, my bloodshot eyes staring wide at the boy who had just asked me to not smoke a cigarette.

“well i mean you already had one , isn’t that enough?” he questioned and bit his bottom lip at the slightest. i closed my cigarette box and shoved it in my pocket, as well as putting my sunglasses back over my eyes.

“i’ll see you around—“  i paused realizing he had never told me his name

“michael my names michael” he quickly responded, straightening his posture.

“i’ll see you around michael” I spoke before shoving my hands in my pocket and pushing myself off of the building and beginning to walk back the way i came.

“hey wait!” i heard him call behind me, which caused me to slightly glance over my shoulder. before scoffing and straightening my view to ahead of me. i soon made it back to my house and before my mom could ask how my walk was, i quickly ran into my room. my eyes adjusted back to the dimly lit room, i removed my belongings from my jacket and put them in their previous spot. before simply tugging off my jacket and throwing it to the side.  my phone lit up with some notification that i could care less about, and then i proceeded to drop myself on my bed.

I laid on my back staring up at my dark ceiling that in areas had shadows dancing across it from the glow of the candles. i played with my sunglasses before throwing them somewhere else on my bed, and sighing.  i thought about my walk and michael’s  questions, before chuckling to myself and shaking my head.

“please don’t smoke!” i slightly mocked, before chuckling once more and then slightly frowning, and then rolling over onto my stomach and grabbing my phone.  i squinted at the bright screen before lowering the brightness. a message appearing from the one person i actually conversed with, even though they had been slightly annoying from time to time.

“HEY! what’s up?” read the message, i slowly typed back talking about how i went on a walk smoked a cigarette and met a boy.

“was he cute?” was her first response back. i let out the slightest of a laugh and shifted on my bed, before thinking back to michael’s appearance and slightly shrugging in response. before looking back down at my phone and quickly typing back.

“yeah i guess he was pretty cute”
