Wilbur had never felt so uncomfortable in his entire life. Arms firmly crossed against his chest, he was trailing behind Invisigirl, who was speed walking to the door she had come out of. There hadn't been a word exchanged the pair, and the super in front hadn't broken her stride for a minute. Wilbur was pretty sure she kept muttering 'Never again.' She should be used to this kind of thing, he thought, but then again she seemed to be the same age as him, and maybe recognised him. Immediately his mind races through all the dark haired girls he knew. One in particular shone out in his mind, but he knocked it down. Violet couldn't be a superhero, especially not Invisigirl. He wasn't doubting her ability, but he knew she didn't like him, and probably wouldn't be saving him right now.

Eventually, they got to the door, and Invisigirl reached out to yank the handle, but it wouldn't open. She tried again. The door wasn't moving anywhere. (A/N we can't blame the door for playing matchmaker just this once. It barely gets to see people anymore) Inwardly groaning, Wilbur motioned for Invisigirl to step aside, and she did, raising an eyebrow as Wilbur subtly flexed, and tried to open the door himself, just to prove he was stronger. The door, however, still didn't budge, and Wilbur started to feel threatened by it; it seemed to be laughing at their poor attempts. Turning back to Invisigirl, he shrugged, not able to swallow his pride enough to say that it was, indeed, locked.

"Are there any other doors we could escape out of?" After a few seconds of thinking, Wilbur shook his head. It was a security risk his dad had implemented to make it harder for someone to break in, but also harder to get out. It was times like this Wilbur cursed his dad's obsession with his inventions, and lack of touch with his family.

"What about the vents?" Pondered Violet aloud, more to herself then Wilbur. Without waiting for an answer, she started to drag a nearby shoe-rack so it was directly under a vent, then reached up to try and dislodge it. Frowning when she realised she wasn't tall enough, she gestured to Wilbur to give her a hand.

Rolling his eyes slightly at her demands, Wilbur willingly joined her on the upside down shoe-rack, and together, they lifted the vent up and and dropped the grate on the ground. Then, hands around her waist, he lifted her up into the vent, and then when she was comfortably inside, she stretched out her arms and grabbed his wrist, lifting him into the vent beside her. For a moment, the pair of them gathered their bearings, well, the was the frontier Violet used. The truth was that Violet was trying to calm her heart, which was still racing at Wilbur's hands on her waist. Although hating to admit it, she was craving his touch again.

"Ahem. I told you that dad's work room is this way, there's a huge window we could jump out of. You could use your forcefield powers to prevent us...breaking limbs."

"Huh? Oh yeah, good idea." Violet was suddenly glad for the dim lighting, as it meant Wilbur couldn't see her blush. "Which way is it?" Fighting the urge to face-plant, Wilbur pointed forward. Then Violet started shuffling down the cramped vent, Wilbur close on her heels. There was little to no room in the vent, so movement was slow as they crawled along, and since it was dark the two often bumped into each other and the cold metal walls. The whole issue with Wilbur not wearing a shirt hadn't been forgotten, especially by Wilbur, who was feeling rather chilly in the vent, and was uncomfortable by the dust settled on his torso in huge wads. He was also pretty sure that about 50 spiders had landed in his hair.

Okay, okay. If he was being honest then the number of spiders in his hair was...500.

Pain.

After too much suffering on Wilbur's part, they reached Wilbur's dad's invention room, and after wriggling around in the tight gap they both dropped to the ground. "Wow, it's huge in here." Gasped Invisigirl, and slowly circled around each shiny metal object. "Yeah, it's pretty cool. I mean, I wouldn't know, I'm almost never allowed in here."

"Really?" Asked the Incredibles daughter, and turned round to look at him, seeing him through new eyes. He was standing self consciously off to one side, rubbing his arm, eyes not quite meeting hers. He looked miserable, and lonely, so lonely in that moment that Violet wanted to hug him. Instead, she gingerly placed a gloved hand on his arm. "It's ok."

"No, no it's not." Replied Wilbur, pulling away from her grip and immediately feeling cold after he did so. "My dad's so obsessed by these stupid machines that he-" Suddenly Wilbur kicked the nearest device to him, causing the dust cover to fall off. "That he..." Wilbur's sentence trailed away. Beneath the white cover lay a machine, like a car but smaller, and without wheels. It had a huge glass window at the front, and a bunch of buttons and levers inside, instead of a steering wheel.

"What's that's?" Asked Violet, suddenly very curious

"What's that's?" Asked Violet, suddenly very curious.

"Now that is an excellent question." Muttered Wilbur, and began to circle the mysterious object. Could it be...was it a...?

A loud crash interrupted his thoughts. He a Violet shared a glance before running to the window, where the rest of the Incredibles were fighting some kind of...bowler hat? It was all very strange. Assuming it was a malfunctioned machine, Violet searched and found a small lock to the window, and using her forcefield, broke the lock from the inside. Then, with the help of Mr Robinson's son, she heaved it open so they could jump. "Are you scared of heights?" She whispered, eyes gleaming daringly.

"Only if you don't catch me." He answered back, equally as flirty, and Violet felt her heart jump. Before she could hesitate, she seines his hand, and together they flew out the window, only to stop mid-air for Violet's forcefield to take control and lead them gently to the ground. From there, Violet took control with weaving Wilbur out of the way of danger, until running with him back to where his family were waiting patiently. Upon seeing he was alright, she headed back to her family to finish the job off.

Looking him up and down, Franny smiled. "Why haven't you got a shirt on?" Wilbur groaned, trying to hide his blush. He'd forgotten about that.

"It's a long story."

A/N so here's the plan, right. I'm going to try, (emphasis on try) to update more regularly, but I won't do it every day because I have school and everything, but will try to do it once a week, and at the very least, once every two or three weeks, we'll see how it goes. Again, thank you for reading, and I hope you liked the chapter x
