The events of the day before had continued to run through Keith's mind as he tried to drift off to sleep. In the end, the teen had a restless night and was more irritable than normal. It was still too early for any person in their right mind to be away on the weekend, so Keith decided to make breakfast instead of going to the diner.

As he was looking through the fridge, Shiro opened the front door with Matt close behind. Everyone wore a slightly shocked expression upon seeing the other at such an early hour.

"What are you guys doing here?" The raven haired teen leaned against the counter.

Matt chuckled as Shiro walked into the other room. "We actually pulled another all-nighter and Shiro broke his headset so we stopped by so he could grab a spare. Oh! We brought you some food from the diner." Matt handed the to-go bag to Keith.

"Thanks."

"I found it! Let's get back before someone knocks us down the leader-board."

Keith raised an eyebrow before Shiro continued.

"World of Mischief is having a special event today. Those that complete certain tasks and missions earn points and those on the top of the leader-board get a special prize."

"I see."

Shiro chuckled as he ruffled up the Keith's raven hair, "I'll be back home later tonight. Call if you need anything and try to have some fun." With that, Shiro and Matt left Keith to finish his breakfast.

After eating, Keith made his way back to his room and looked at his computer. Yesterday had been extremely eventful and he had seemed to enjoy the game but he was still hesitant. Sharpshooter's words about having more fun in the game with friends you knew in real life or made online wasn't sitting well. Keith didn't have any friends, well, besides Shiro but he was more like a brother.

Groaning loudly, Keith flopped down into his chair and booted up the game. A few moments after letting the VR headset boot up, Keith was once again transported to the fantasy world within the game. The graphics still amazed him at how lifelike everything seemed to appear.

Keith hadn't been logged in for more than a few moments before a chat window appeared. Sighing, the teen had an idea of who it was and was slightly shocked he was online already.

Sharpshooter: Nightblade, you're online!

Nightblade: I've been online for less than a minute...Why are you messaging me?

Sharpshooter: I was worried you might not come back! Also, wanna team up for the event?

Nightblade: Why not team up with your friends from the guild?

Sharpshooter: But I want to be your teammate! It's better with friends, Mullet!

Nightblade: 1) We're not friends. 2) Why me? And 3) Stop calling me that!

Sharpshooter hadn't replied to the last message and Keith felt a slight pang of guilt. He shouldn't have said that but he also didn't want Sharpshooter to get the wrong idea. The raven haired teen thought that it was best for both of them if they kept their distance from one another.

News of the one day event had spread causing numerous players to login extremely early. Keith watched as characters of all shapes and sizes buzzed about the town in an attempt to finish the tasks and quests of the event.

Leaning against a building with Red at his feet, Keith was glancing over the event details when a pair of hands covered his eyes. He was about to elbow the person when they chuckled in his ear, "Guess who!"

Keith shook his head and glared as Sharpshooter pulled away to lean against the building in front of him. Deep blue eyes stared into Keith's violet ones causing him to look away.

"What do you want? Why are you here?"

Sharpshooter kept his eyes trained on the assassin before him. "Why did you give your character violet eyes?"

The raven haired teen took a step back, "What does that have to do with why you're here?"

"I noticed it when we met yesterday but forgot to say anything. Nightblade, does it have to do with your real eye color?"

Heat was beginning to rise in his cheeks under his mask. Keith turned and began walking away from Sharpshooter when he tripped over something. When he looked up, the blue lion was standing over him and nuzzled her head against her cheek. The cuteness of the lion cause Keith to start laughing.

"I told you that Blue missed you." Sharpshooter had walked over and extended his hand to help the laughing teen up.

"This still doesn't explain why you're here, Sharpshooter."

The taller boy looked at his feet while rubbing the back of his neck. "Well, I thought you might want to take part in the event and you need a partner for it so yeah. I also didn't want things to end like they did yesterday. You seemed upset when you left and look like you still are. I just wanted you to enjoy the game like you were when we were fighting that orc."

Keith clenched his hands before sighing, "Look, I'm sorry about what I said earlier. I'm not used to talking to people. But, I appreciate you helping me out."

A smile spread across Sharpshooter's face as he hugged the shorter teen. "Don't worry about it! I'm just happy to have a new friend, even if you're hard to get along with at times."

"Seriously, what is with you and all this touching?!"

A chuckle filled Keith's ears, "I come from a big family and hugging and just being close to one another is apart of everyday life. Awe, is Mullet getting flustered being so close to someone as handsome as me?" Sharpshooter leaned closer towards Keith's face to the point that their noses brushed against one another.

Sharpshooter's closeness shocked Keith to the point of being frozen in place. After a moment, the heat continued to rise under his mask as he pushed against the taller teen's chest. He stormed off in the opposite direction while Sharpshooter laughed. The taller boy and both the lions soon caught up to Keith as the four of them made their way towards the forest and the first of the event's tasks.

A.N.~ Sorry that the updates for this and the other works I have aren't the consistent. I just have a lot going on all at once and my writing takes a hit because of that. But, I am grateful to all of those who still support this story and look forward to it's updates. I know it isn't the best but I still hope that you enjoy it! I'll try to update a little more often but I'm also in the process of getting everything worked out for an original story I'm planning on working on for NaNoWriMo.
