Trial of Patience Part 2

//Male Reader (a minute earlier)//

I panted from the raw exhaustion I felt. I had remained in that for for too long. Intense frustration filled my mind. Feeling of failure and disappointment. Feelings of annoyance and self loathing. 'What am I missing?' I would ask myself. Just as I was about to move back to land, I felt myself collapse.

My body was put into far too much strain. There I was laying in the water. Too exhausted to even move. This frustrated me to no end. To be so weak that I couldn't even move. To be so helpless. To be back where I had started. Back. At. Square. One. In an instantaneous moment, I felt energy flare up from the depths of my soul and starting to force its way out. The feeling was so intense, all I could do was scream, before I blacked out.

//Vados's POV (present time)//

I immediately made my way to where I last saw (Y/n), thinking that he was the only one the scream could have come from. I arrived to see nothing but a dust cloud and a crater. I tapped my staff down causing a large breeze to push by clearing the debris and dust from the area. I looked around quickly then found (Y/n) at the apex of the explosion. "(Y/n)!" I called out before rushing down quickly to make sure he was alright.

His arms and chest muscles were swolen and reddended, a few veins in his forehead was clearly visible, and he was completly unconscious. I checked his heartbeat and found that he was actually extremely calm. Almost as if he was mearly sleeping.

Wanting an explanation, I used my abilities to project what happened. It seemed shortly after I had left, he had actually run out of energy. He ran himself dry to the point that he just feel into the water. But, something was off. He had that same annoyed look on his face as before. It was so strange to see him like that. He always wore a confident smirk and smile. That... That handsome smirk... Realizing my thoughts had wandered I shook my trying to clear my mind. Just as I was ready to stop the visual, I saw something. Something... Spontaneous.

In what seemed like an instant, the explosion happened. It was... jarring. I relwinded it again and watched. But the same thing. No explanation. Just complete exhaustion, a scream, then explosion. So, I took it slower. I rewound to just before the explosion, maybe I was missing something? I left my staff to project it all while I got a closer look. I went straight up to (Y/n)'s projection and looked closely. Due to how slow I had the projection playing, I was able to get a good look at his condition. He looked immobile. Like he had gone completely limp. Then, it came.

I saw his eyes shoot open, as it he had just woken up from a bad dream. He screamed a bloodcurdling scream. It sounded painful. Like he was in pure agony. The slow motion seemed to make that fact all the more prominent. His mouth and eyes glowed and emitted an intense light while his hair glowed bright as well. Then, the explosion ensued. The force and preasure seemed to completely crisalize rock and turn sand to glass.

After I finishes my invistigation, I moved (Y/n) from the spot. I tapped my staff down rewinding the lake back to it's previous state. After that I decided to take (Y/n) to bed so I can patch him up.

//Male Reader//

Once I finally came too again, I found myself in bed again. But, this time with Vados over top of me. "Vados...?" I asked. She froze for a moment then looked down to me. "Oh! H-hello my L-I-I mean (Y/n)! I-I was, uh. Well I was-" She pause for a moment cutting herself off as I closed my eyes. "My apologies (Y/n). I was in the middle of bandaging your body when you awoke. Please remain still." She said as I felt her arms go around me once more with what I believe is bandage.

"Thank you, Vados." I said trying my best not to move. "For?" She asked pulling the bandages tight. I winced for a moment. "Patching me up." I said before trying to get up. It hurt to move, but I didn't mind. She smiled seemingly happy to have been thanked. "Of course, (Y/n). I had heard a scream followed by an explosion. I came to see what happened, but I juet found you in a massive crater." She said with a worried look on her face. "If I may ask, what happened?"
