One direction adopted a hybrid

Chapter 24

-Niall-

We were almost in America. Maybe like 5 hours away. I am pretty excited about finding my mate. I hope Austin finds his mate also. I'm a little scared right now 'cause Alice is running really fast. It's like a roller coaster that just goes straight with the occasional turns.

All of sudden things were being thrown at all of us. I'm not sure what they were since we were running to fast for my eyes to adjust to them. But then I finally saw what it was since one of them came hurdling towards Alice and I. It was an arrow. I think whoever is throwing them is trying to kill Alice, Luke, Austin, Jace, and hunter for meat.

We were dodging all of them until one of them hit Alice's left hind leg. Oh no that's not good. I was panicking 'cause I didn't know what to do. She was starting to limp which caused us to slow down a little which also caused another arrow to come hurdling towards us and hit her in the side. Now she was full on limping.

Alice just stopped running all of a sudden. What I didn't expect her to do was shift. So now she's basically giving me a piggy back ride. I should probably get down now. "Are you okay?" I asked her. "Ye-yeah." She stuttered. the others were still running and were far ahead. I was gonna ask if she wanted me to carry her but she started to pull out the arrows. Ew. she's starting to bleed alot. But of course, with her having werewolf and vampire blood she started to heal. "Do you want me to carry you on my back" I said. "No it's alright I'm fine. Lets go before the hunters come" she said. I nodded and grabbed our bags which fell when she shifted.

-Alice-

While we were running I was shot with two arrows. I had to shift to pull out the arrows. Since I couldn't ask Niall to do it without shifting. Once the arrows were out of my side and and left legs my wounds started to close up. Niall asked me if I was okay and if I wanted him to carry me but I said no since I'm already healing.

I told him we had to go already since the hunters are getting closer. I shifted and Niall got on me with our bags. When I started to run my leg and side hurt a little when I moved like it was sore. We had to hurry up to catch up to everyone before we're on our own.

I ran fast but not as fast as before. I could tell we were getting closer to the others by the sound of the four boys talking to eachother and the thumping of the others feet. We were maybe 10 minutes behind.

I ran just a bit faster and before you know it we were with the others. "Are you guys okay" I heard Louis say. "Yeah Alice just got shot, but she's healed now" Niall said. "Why do you think they attacked us" Liam said turning his upper body towards us. "Maybe for they're fur to make like a jacket or something." Harry said. "Or for the meat" Zayn said. "Yeah maybe" Niall said.

It was probably around 6 in the morning in London and 10 at night in America. We should be in America in 2 or 3 hours. I just want to get there already and eat and then sleep. But I can't sleep since we have to start searching. I have to tell the boys to get some rest before we're in America but I can't. So, I did the only thing I could do, shift.

While running I jumped in the air, which made Niall hold in tighter, and shifted, which caused Niall to shriek. "Why did you shift" Niall asked holding in more tightly. I put my arms around his legs to hold him and continued running.

"Because I had to tell you guys something" I said. I had to run vampire speed to keep up with the others. "What'd you need to tell us" Louis said looking at us. "That you need to rest so that when we start searching for Nialls mate and Austin's you guys won't be tired" I said starting to swear a little.

He was about to protest but let out a girly scream. I also saw that hunter shifted back."Dude what the hell!" Louis exclaimed while flicking the back if Hunters head. "Oww! Alice you need to shift back and hide with the others" he said to me. That's when I realized that it was just me, hunter, Louis and Niall. "why?" I questioned. "Because there are very bad vampires coming out way" he explained. "What about you and Louis" I said. "You are going to take Louis with you and hide. Im going to distract them so you guys can all get to America safely"

"But I can't leave you" I said. "You have to or else we'll all die" he said. "But I can't let you die, you've always been like a brother since I came here" I was starting to get teary eyed. He was going to say something but was hit with an arrow. Maybe it wasn't haunted a but these so called bad vampires. "Go! Now!" he screamed. O grabbed Louis' hand and started runing.

"Niall I'm going to need you to get off" I said. "Ok" he said. I slowed down and let him drop. "Lets go now" I said. I held both their hands and we ran. I had to sniff the air every once in a while to know where the others are going. "We're almost there" I said.

We were almost there when I heard a scream. I stopped running and looked in the direction of hunter. "Hunter!" I screamed. "Come on Alice we need to leave" Niall said tuggin on my arm. "But they killed him" I screamed at him through the tears that were flowing down my cheeks.

"It's going to be okay, let's go before they get us" Louis said. They basically had to drag me with them. my whole body felt numb. Hunter always treated me like I was his sister since we first met.

I met him on my first day at the orphanage. He was turning 18 in a week so he would've been leaving soon. We started hanging out together on my second day. I was suprised at how fast I was trusting him. I didn't trust people easily after my parents death. Every time one of the other kids would bully me, he would protect me from them. And when I would cry at night he would comfort me and sing to me. But when he left, I was devastated. But he promised me he would never leave me and he kept that promise until today. We would always meet at the Starbucks near the orphanage. It was like we were actually related.

I cried the whole way to there. We just got to to the others. Once Austin saw my tear stained face he clenched his fist. "Who made you cry" he said through gritted teeth. "It doesn't matter who made me cry, they're gone now" I said while silently crying. "What do you mean, did you kill them or something" he said in a joking tone. I just started full on sobbing. Why would I even think if killing him. Why would anyone kill him. "Dont cry I was kidding. Please don't cry" Austin tried to comfort me. But that isn't gonna work this time.

I kept crying until I had no more tears. I really miss hunter. I was starting to get sleepy from all the crying. I was slowly falling to sleep.

-Austin-

I didn't know what to do. Alice just kept on sobbing. I'm not even sure what happened.

Alice stopped crying after she was all out of tears. I knew she was tired since she kept going in and out of sleep. She soon fell asleep. "What happened?" I asked Louis and Niall. "Hunter was killed" Niall said quietly. "The bad vampires attacked him when we were running" Louis explained. I nodded. I didn't know hunter that well but I knew him and Alice must've cared alot about each other.

"We have to move before more come" I said. "What happens to us" Louis said pointing to him, Niall, and Alice. "Umm, Niall, you can go with Zayn and Jace. Louis you're going with Luke and Harry. then Alice is coming with me and Liam." I said.

Liam grabbed Alice's bag while I shifted. We all shifted besides the boys and Alice. Liam picked Alice up and placed her on me. He then got on me as well and tightly into Alice so she wouldn't fall.

We were already coming into America. Just 5 more minutes and we'll be in America.

Finally, we're in America.
