I was getting used to the fact my boyfriend and brother were both vampires. I was used to the feel of Zach's fangs when he kissed me and Blaine's fangs when he smiled. I wondered why I'd never noticed before but I realised it was because I didn't know so the fangs weren't on show. Now they had no reason to hide them. A loud knock at the door stopped my thoughts in their tracks and brought me back to reality. Figuring it was probably Zach I knew I had to get it because there was no chance Blaine would. I half ran, half fell down the stairs to answer the door, stopping short to catch my breath. I opened the door and the sight made my jaw drop. I swear it hit the floor. In the doorway stood my oldest brother, who I hadn't seen for a long while now, Felix.

"Hi Cass." It was the only thing I heard before being suffocated in a tight hug. My brother was here! I wouldn't have believed it had I not been struggling to breath from his tight grasp. "God I have missed you." This was unlike anything I had expected. I thought it was Zach visiting while my parents were away on another spontaneous holiday. Seriously my parents would be at home one day then the other side of the world the next. This time they were in Sydney and I have to admit I was so jealous.

"Felix! What are you doing here?!" Don't get me wrong I was glad to see him but if any of us kids had inherited our parents spontaneity it definitely wasn't Felix. He liked stability so his little impromptu visit scared me ever so slightly. He caught my eye and smiled making me feel slightly idiotic for being worried about him being at home.

"I thought I'd come to see my family." He looked slightly confused now but it soon passed. It was that quick I doubted if I had actually seen it or simply made it up. Again shaken from my thoughts by the loud shout making its way from Felix's mouth and up the stairs to the ears of Blaine. "Hey! Blaine, get down here!" It wasn't a threat it was more 'I haven't seen you for so long and you've waited this long to get down stairs to see me'. Blaine clearly had no idea who it was that was shouting for him, I wouldn't have even recognised Felix's voice. It sounded far to rough for him like he was just recovering from a cough. I heard a loud sigh and then Blaine's feet hitting the floor above my head and slowly making his way down the stairs. He didn't look up until he was at the bottom and even then he just stared and dropped to sit on the bottom step. "Hey what's wrong?" Fear and concern were clearly apparent in Felix's voice and Blaine's eyes were wide. I knew I had to do something.

"Do you want to put your stuff in your room?" I tried to usher him down the hall to his old room so I would be able to corner Blaine and find out why he was so shocked. Felix just nodded and made an audible gulp. It was made clear to me not only was Blaine shocked but Felix was too, and he was hurt. I walked back over to Blaine to try to straighten things up. I knew I wouldn't have long I had a feeling Felix wasn't one to unpack. "Blaine, we'll talk about this later." I gave him a stern look in a last ditch attempt just as Felix reappeared.

"Cass, I'm going to go catch up with some mates." He didn't even glance at Blaine, he gave me a weak smile and left. I spun around to face my brother who wouldn't have even noticed. He had his head in his hands and was beginning to tremble. I'd never seen my brother so worked up. I dropped to my knees in front of him so as to have him at eye level. He lifted his head slightly and anything I was about to say became entirely irrelevant.

"Evan." It was all Blaine whispered as we held eye-contact for a brief moment then his head dropped back to his hands. I wasn't prepared for the sudden outburst so I just stood and watched. He began to shake violently as he stood up and paced the length of the kitchen. "I thought I told him never to come back. Evan will kill him. He was serious, doesn't he get that." Blaine said a lot of things in those following moments but it meant nothing to me. Who was Evan going to hurt? Why? There were so many questions swirling through my mind I felt light-headed. I went over to Blaine. It had been about 10 minutes since Felix had left which gave him time to go... well anywhere really. He could even have made it to Zach's by now if he'd wanted to.

The next few minutes seemed to be in slow motion. I was comforting Blaine for about the fourth time telling him it  wasn't his fault, Felix would be fine, Evan wasn't going to kill anyone. Then it hit me. Felix used to be really close to Evan when Blaine and him had shared a flat. That all changed when Blaine came home. Felix must have seen something, or Blaine had told him. Evan had threatened him. He'd threatened to kill him. If Felix knew this he wouldn't have gone looking for trouble, then again Felix was like that. He couldn't know about the secret lives of the Belcourts and Blaine because he wouldn't risk it. They could easily kill him but he didn't know that. Zach wouldn't let him get hurt. But then again Zach wouldn't know who he was. Blaine began sobbing and I realised how bad this was and how unaware Felix was. My phone rang and I saw it was Felix. I gave a sigh of relief and smiled as I said 'Hel-' I was cut short by the voice at the other end, that wasn't Felix but sounded too familiar to be a stranger, that said. 'Got him.'
