I looked around and saw Luke staring at me from across the hall with a big smirk on his face. I smiled at him only out of politeness but was creeped out by him as well. My attention was turned away by a loud screech and a couple squeals.

"Sorry about that everyone you all know how this mic can get sometimes."

Mr. Higgins was speaking. He wore the camp teeshirt everyone would be getting, a pair of kaki shorts, and running shoes. He gave a small speech about safety and responsibility and leadership. And after awhile it got boring, so I zoned out.

"Hey" a voice spoke into my ear. I turned my head to find Luke towering over me. He was much taller than he gave off from a distance. And his 6 foot figure towered over my 5'5" figure.

"Um hi" I spoke kind of shocked Luke was even speaking to me.

"You wanna go do something later" I could feel a set of eyes on me and noticed Mikey watching us carefully.

"Like what?" I questioned

"Let's go on a canoe up the river for a little bit" I wanted to go but something also told me not to go.

"Um sure why not" I watched Mikey as his expression turned From wonder to disappointment and anger.

The speech had gone on for another 5 minutes and then we were set loose for the rest of the day. Before I went on my little trip with Luke I wanted to tell Bella and let her know because who wouldn't wanna go canoeing with the hottest guy at camp.

Luke started to walk off when Mikey called me.

"I'll be right back" I spoke to Luke I could tell he was annoyed at Mikey but I was unsure why. They have always seemed to hate each other for some unknown reason to anyone other than Luke and the guys of our group.

"Yes Mikey?"

"What the hell do you think your doing going canoeing with him?"

"What are you talking about I can do whatever I want! You are not my father and you better not try to act like him either."

I walked away before 'my father' could scold me anymore.

I met back with Luke and we silently walked done to the river. There were already people swimming around and splashing each other. Luke went down to the canoe house and lifted the thing above his head with no assistance needed I followed behind with the paddles and we got in and were on our way down the river. It was all pretty silent for a while and it was awkward.

"Where do you live?" Luke broke the silence

"California, what about you where do you live?"

"Here pretty much."

"That must be nice not having to drive forever to get to camp"

"No I hate it here. I've lived here my whole life and there is nothing I want more than some change"

Luke readjusted his lip ring as he finished speaking.

"Oh" was all that I could say. I heard this buzzing coming from somewhere.

"Do you hear that?" We both chimed.

I kept looking straight ahead and saw a bright blue blur come towards us as I got closer I recognized it as a jet ski. Luke tuned his head and as soon as he did the ski flew past us tipping our canoe over. Luke and I both screamed and were stuck in the water. The ski came back over and stopped again.

"Hey hemmings" a boy with short dark hair and a green shirt that read 'camp willow' across the front spoke

"Tell your uncle that he should really think about just selling his camp to us and leaving" the boy spoke again

"Well why don't you just tell your father to fuck off" Luke retorted

"Whatever" the boy on the jet ski spoke and drove away splashing us with even more water.

"What was that all about?" I asked as Luke and I tried to flip the canoe back over. He waited until we got back in the canoe and started to explain.

"There is this new camp called camp willow and that was the owners son and they have been trying to get my uncle to sell his camp."

"Wait mr Higgins is your uncle?"

"Yeah... But please don't tell anyone I don't want people thinking I get special treatment or something."

"I won't" we got back to camp and Ashton, Mikey,Calum, and Bella were all at the beach. Bell ran up to us.

"What happened why are you soaking wet?"

"Canoe tipped" I shrugged and Luke and I went to get changed. Only one problem we didn't know what rooms we were in.
