Five

SKYLER'S POV

Luke walked away and I made sure he was out of site before I spoke up.

"WHAT THE HELL ASHTON!!!"

He just looked at me like nothing happened. "What?"

"What do you mean 'what?' You know exactly 'what?' Why do you do that type of shit! You're always so nice and then when Luke becomes part of the picture you turn into a complete asshole." I was pretty pissed and everyone could tell. I looked around at everyone's face and they all looked like they had seen a ghost. No one had ever seen me mad before and I have a feeling they would see it a lot this summer.

"Skyl-" I cut Ashton off.

"Ya know what save it... Clearly you're not as good of a friend as I thought you were." With that I walked away to clear my mind.

I could hear footsteps follow behind me.

"Ashton I swear if you come anywhere near-" I said calmly but sternly until I was cut off.

"It's not Ashton..." I turned around to Michael behind me and only now had I realized I had made it all the way back down to the beach area, which was a pretty far walk from the mess hall.

"Listen" Michael started off, " I know you're pissed and all but there is something you need to know..."

I just kind of stared at Mikey while he started back at me, I nodded and he continued.

"There is a lot of... History between Luke and Ashton. That only a handful of people know about. Involving a couple 13 year old little boys who grew up to not be so fond of each other. Listen I know this probably doesn't make any sense to you, and you don't see what is going on, but everyone else who was there that day knows exactly why they hate each other. And..."

"Hey Skye!" Once again everything keeps getting interrupted and no one can finish a statement without being cut off... Ugh!

" hi Luke" I forced a smile.

"We will talk later" Mikey said with a forced smile himself, and walked away.

"What was that all about?" Luke asked

"Nothing" I responded but Luke clearly didn't believe me, but he let it go.

We both kind of just looked around and took in our surroundings. Until I spoke up, "hey I'm gonna go to my cabin I'm not feeling to good do you think you could help me find out which cabin I'm staying in?"

"Yeah no problem" Luke mentioned "Bella is already in there it's cabin 17, she asked me to tell you"

"Okay thanks" I smiled and made my way to cabin 17.

I walked in to find all my stuff in the room and Bella laying on the bed I assumed she claimed as her own.

"Hey Bella, can I ask you something?"

"Anything" she looked at me kindly.

"Is it wrong for me to be talking to Luke?"

Bella just looked at me and sighed, "if you knew the history I think things would make sense."

And there it was... the thing that everybody seemed to know about but me. I was sick of it.

"What cabin is Mikey in?" I spoke quickly

"22 he's with Ashton, why?"

"I'll be back" I said as I ran to their cabin.

I approached the cabin and just as I was about to knock Mikey opened the door and rushed out. "C'mon"

"Where are we going?" I asked as Mikey dragged me out of anyone's sight into the woods.

We had been walking for a good while until We stopped.

"Alright can you explain all of the drama now or will I have to wait more!"

Mikey looked at me and took in a deep breath. "Okay I don't know how you're gonna take this but... The whole reason Luke and Ashton hate each other is because of you."

"Because of me? How?" I was really confused.

"Okay, so you know how we always have a huge bonfire at the end camp?" I nodded. "A couple years ago, you, me, Ashton, Calum, and Bella were sitting alone. Until Max Latta came over." I sighed remembering Max. He had a major crush on me and always tried talking to me.

"Well Ashton had this huge crush on you at the same time. Max tried sitting right between you and Ashton. It kind of looked like Max was going to make a move on you. I remember you had always felt uncomfortable around him so you excused yourself to go to the bathroom. When you left some things were said and next thing you know Ashton punched Max sending him straight to the ground. Max didn't waste his time on getting up. Minutes later they were fighting. Luke came and He ran over to Ashton pushing him off and taking Max's spot. Calum left to find some help while Bella went to stop you from coming back over. I tried pulling Luke off of Ashton. But I'm weak so i fell backwards. Calum came back with help. We had to explain to Luke why Ashton beat up Max. Luke seemed surprised. He mumbled something no one could here. He went over to Max whispered something to him and they both left. The next day Ashton and I were walking with Bella to the mess hall you weren't there because I think you were already left or something but we were stopped by some yelling. It came from Max's cabin. We ran over to it hearing Lukes voice. He started yelling at Max for making his move on you because Max knew that luke liked you. So that's when Ashton barged in and started freaking out on Luke and max and ended up punching them because he liked you at the time to and he still does."

"And that's why they hate each other? Because they both liked me?" Mikey nodded at each of my questions. " can I ask for your opinion?" Mikey nodded again. "Is it wrong for me to like Luke?"

Mikey just stared at his feet and anything else other than me before answering. "That's not my decision."

I looked at Mikey hoping he would change his answer or say something else on the subject but there was nothing. Mikey just walked away and I wasn't gonna just stand in the woods by myself so I just gave in and followed. I had to talk it out so I just kind of did while Mikey listened.

"I've always had a crush on Luke. But then again I don't know him nearly as well as I know ash. But ash is like a brother to me. But now that I think about it maybe he is more. But what about the two of them if I want to still be friends with Ashton I have to get them to come around to each other. But if I go for Ashton I have to loose a friend. But if I go for Luke I could possibly loose all of my friends."

I talked this all out while we walked back, while Mikey didn't say a word he only let me talk while he listened. And just as we got to the edge of the woods Mikey pulled me over behind a big tree.

"Promise you won't tell anyone about what I told you not even Bella" I nodded and that was it we left for the bonfire.
